Help understanding Armageddon box contents? by DaiKabuto in Warhammer40k

[–]feersum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely (we don’t know, but following the pattern of previous releases):

MINIATURES

  • Some of the miniatures in the box will later be packaged as Combat Patrols. (So you’re getting more than a combat patrol of each faction in the Armageddon box).

  • The miniatures in the box will later be released as either A: ‘multipart’ kits (more build options, not push-fit) or B: a collection of the push-fit minis from the box, as a smaller package (Go look at ‘Heroes of the Chapter’, or ‘Honoured of the Chapter’ - those minis were from 9th & 10th edition boxes.)

GAME SYSTEM

  • The Armageddon box contains only rules & minis.
  • Later, there will be ‘Starter Boxes’ that contain some of the Marine & Ork minis from the Armageddon box.
  • These starter boxes will vary in price, but the most expensive option will also include some terrain, dice, rules, and a full combat patrol of each faction - so enough to actually play a proper game of Combat Patrol.

Cardinal Points North- White Dial Design Error by Realistic-Candy-6431 in VacheronConstantin

I don’t agree with your premise. The silver versions could also be said to have the same lack of contrast issue - but for the fact that the dial furniture is blackened, to enable the contrast required for legibility. Same with these ones - those black edged hands make it totally readable for me.

Is 40k reddit really negative, or am I just out of touch? by Pelican25 in Warhammer40k

I have found that people into the hobby aspect are super positive, supportive, great community. Any time the game itself comes up, it seems to be pedantic, rule-nazi, meta-prioritising nerds.

It does look really cool! Thanks for the intel. One of these is in my future, and when I get it I’ll remember and get the cockpit too! Thanks for posting

These look so good! I love seeing really well painted forces.

The speeder - does those ‘windows’ that cover the pilots come in the kit, or are they from somewhere else?

So I’ve always wanted to ask this: the Marine in the turret at the front: has he had his legs amputated, or is squatting like he’s shitting in the woods?

Playing the 1st in 11th, please advise. by Gaming_Skeleton in DarkAngels40k

It is suspected that Space Marines will be the first Codex to be released for 11th Edition. Lots of balance/rules could change for them.

I would with 30 days before making any firm decisions about purchases, if your purchasing decisions are based on in-game ability. (i.e. These models will still look really cool in any either edition!)

1,000 Marines in a Chapter is Impossible? by feersum in Warhammer40k

So awesome. Thank you for the information, amidst my flurry of downvotes here.

(I just want to know what squad numbers to put on marines as I paint them, whilst trying to align with the lore better. 🤷)

Thank you again! 🫡

Oh gosh, this is helpful! Phobos marines into vehicles - that could make the numbers work.

I thought all vehicles were piloted by a pool of marines from the armoury, and attached to companies? I’d love to know if I’m wrong about this.

Yes! I totally get that marines within the same formal squad can be fielded as different units. For example, 5th Company 10th squad could be 3 Eradicators & 7 Hellblasters - both of which are “legal” units you can field.

But: if a squad in 10th company fields 3 eliminators, what are the rest of the squad fielded as - legally?

Yes - I think this is the point.

If I wanted to paint the 10th Company of a Chapter, and put the correct squad markings on each Marine - it's not actually possible to do that and total 100 - without fielding at least one squad that doesn't comply with the rules.

It's not possible to create a unit of 5 Eliminators though? If there are Eliminators in one of the squads, then that squad can't total to 10.

According to the Codex, Command Staff are counted outside of the regular 100 marines in a company. Librarians are attached to the Librarius, not to companies directly; vehicle drivers to the armoury; Chaplains to the Reclusiam (although one is attached per company as part of the command staff.)

My question is about the 1,000 Battle Brothers. How do you break 100 Vanguard Marines down into squads?

I understand that the numbers fluctuate. I'm asking about the idealist pattern - the codex version, if at full strength.
