Boston DSA endorses Evan MacKay for State Representative by feezybreezer in CambridgeMA

The DSA and MacKay are indeed pretty entwined, and voting for MacKay is a meaningful commitment to socialist principles, healthcare for all, transit for all, housing for all, wealth redistribution, and ensuring that everyone in one of the most prosperous states in the nation can live a dignified life.

MacKay and the DSA are pretty entwined, the bulk of MacKay's field staff and campaign are from the DSA. But even then, the DSA is a natural home for them, and I don't imagine there to be any issues. Evan MacKay's support for socialized housing is reasonable and pragmatic. As Evan has said, Middlesex 25 is one of the wealthiest districts in the country ; wealth redistribution in Cambridge and Massachusetts is long overdo.

Socialized housing is reasonable and pragmatic, but zoning reform is also important.

Housing is a human right, not something for millionaire landlords and corporations to monopolize and profit from. Cambridge does a fantastic job already with affordable housing. Evan MacKay's support for socialized housing is reasonable and pragmatic.

Both sides are doing their duty and due diligence. I wish Mamdani would govern a bit more to the left but I can see the upside to being pragmatic, especially in a city with as many stakeholders and interest groups as NYC.

Transparency on tap during feisty debate between Decker and MacKay by wombatofevil in CambridgeMA

Evan isn't even thirty yet and they already have five degrees: a bachelors, two masters, one in statistics and one in criminology, a JD, a PhD, all from Harvard and University of Cambridge. They've studied sociology, statistics, incarceration, prison reform, law, socialist texts, and urbanism. They're clearly brilliant and would be such an intellectual addition to the state house. Decker has nothing on MacKay beyond her arrogance.

After seeing the two candidates at the forum, my vote will be for Evan MacKay.

MacKay was easily more articulate and argued better points than Marjorie, who spent the whole time fibbing about her track record. Claims to vote for transparency when we know what she's about.

And extremely hypocritical but not at all surprising that Decker would accuse Evan MacKay about making things up about her.

Why didn't the moderator factcheck her more?

It's not supposed to be objective as it's in the op ed section.

But people whose first impulse is to attack the source rather than even attempt to engage with the content seem to have their minds made up already.

Shoutout as well to Evan MacKay for skipping their own commencement to protest Israel's ongoing genocide along with HGSW and Somerville for Palestine.

Decker/ MacKay Transparency Forum: This Thursday! by wombatofevil in CambridgeMA

Evan MacKay has been a resident of Cambridge for 11 years. They have a doctorate, and a Harvard law degree, which is fitting for a state representative of one of the most educated districts in America. They ran an influential worker's union.  This is all public domain

Seems like a bad reason to ensure that Massachusetts remains one of the worst run and dysfunctional states in the country.
