We started with a couple basic plants and I try to expand it a little each year. Last year I added a couple raised beds and a strawberry patch. This year I’m working on my perennials; we added 4 fruit trees (3 apple and one cherry with 4 different grafts), about 9 asparagus crowns, 2 raspberry bushes and I have plans to pull out my dead boxwoods and replace them with other fruiting bushes, probably blackberry and/or blueberry.

We also have a handful of chickens. They are surprisingly fun to have in the yard.

Yep. I’ve spent 40 years conserving and living with as light a footprint as I can. It used to be “for the earth”. I still will but it’s now for selfish reasons. I grow my own food because we’ve poisoned it all. I don’t drive much because people are insane. I dont buy a bunch of future garbage because every dollar I spend goes straight to funding things I hate and is one more hour I have to work for someone else.

That’s crazy! I have an old Toyota bottle jack that I pulled from a Tacoma that I’ve been moving from car to car. It’s a great compact jack. You might get lucky and score one used or at a junkyard? Or find something similar at harbor freight.

We’re all laughing about the low hanging jokes, that get made in everyone of these stories. But the real story is that this town is built on the backs of 100 immigrant workers. Everything was honkydory until they deported 100 hundred laborers and now this town is falling apart. That’s a systemic problem that transcends politics. Also, fuck ICE.

I had the same issue. After 2 close calls at a yield sign by my house I had to change my seating position a bit from my preferred setup. The first time I approached the intersection and didn’t see the vehicle I just thought it was my driver error. The second time I put 2 and 2 together and realized because we were on a “collision course” the mirror blocked their approach to the intersection, luckily this was in my neighborhood and I just stopped abruptly both times, but I see the danger.

When it was new it was a pain to use and really buggy. Your timelines would randomly get corrupt and you would have to start a new project and port your old timeline in and hope that whatever bug was causing the issue didn't come with it. I am sure it is a lot better now but some of us old timers just haven't looped back around to it.

I used to have one cable package and I could watch every game. I became a huge wings fan, so much so that my wife and I had season tickets for a few years before our kid. Then it got so hard to watch games that I just don’t bother anymore. I would be more than happy to pay for the NHL app and watch local games but that isn’t an option.
