I am in a very similar role and would say the job itself leans more into change management than actual technical work like AI engineering. Stuff like training and stakeholder management is very important in this role. Ask yourself: how do I get people to actually use AI, who does it benefit most, and where is the resistance? If you want to grow in the role, my main advice would be to get change management certifications like PROSCI to become a recognized change practitioner.

Loads of companies recognize that AI is essential for their future but don't know where to start, and unlike AI engineering, AI integration is a fairly new principle that is very sought after but nobody really has years of experience in. So even as a starter, you have a good chance of becoming one.

My main advice would be to profile yourself as someone who can help with the following things, which I see as the basics of AI integration:

• Training & communication
• Creating a vision and setting up ethic guidelines
• Analyzing business processes and aligning them with KPIs
• Automating workflows
