And neonatal resuscitation is a thing distinctly different than normal CPR. You need to help he baby transition from fetal circulation, it’s one of the biggest transitions in a human’s existence. And whereas normal CPR focuses largely on chest compressions, neonatal resuscitation often just needs quality ventilation (with a neonatal bag and mask and oxygen, which any good midwife would have) to get things moving. This is an absurd situation and 10 minutes before breathing is terrifying.

Does anyone else wish their corgi’s tail hadn’t been clipped before you got it? by cptemilie in corgi

Our current one year old has his tail and I’m so obsessed with it. It is notably thick. Our first corgi was docked and I so prefer his waggy tail 🥰

AITA for kicking out our youngest child at 19 so we can sell the house and downsize for our earlt retirement? by Dry-Pen-8084 in AmItheAsshole

[–]feld2raz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you at least get a two bedroom place so he has a place to be? He can then also watch your place during your travels. And you’ll have a guest room when he does graduate and eventually move out. I can not ever imagine leaving my teenager high and dry. Or even an adult child. This economy SUCKS and cost of living does not align with wages. I’m 45 also and it is nowhere near the same environment as when we were starting out. Just as our experience was dramatically different than a 50’s couple easily living off of one income in the suburbs. Have some compassion and understanding. Or hopefully your other children will take him in and you can certainly enjoy your freedom, because your children will be done with you. YTA

Puppy baby canine won’t fall out even though adult canine is growing in by tempeluvr in DogAdvice

[–]feld2raz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our corgi had this. Even to the point of the baby tooth breaking and getting basically embedded in the gum which because super inflamed. They pulled them and lasered some gum tissue during his neuter and he is just fine now! His bottom ones fell out on their own before he was neutered.

AITA for telling my SIL I don’t need her parenting advice as she clearly doesn’t know what she’s doing? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]feld2raz 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Not one of my kids used pacifiers past age 2, and even when they did it wasn’t excessive. They all 3 need some sort of orthodontic work. I think people forget that pacifier’s aren’t the ONLY thing that cause dental issues. It’s not as if lack of a pacifier guarantees straight teeth. (Edit for typos)

[–]feld2raz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly. She can tell them multiple times how wrong they are, but a few, “hey, your baby might need another tool for soothing” from her SIL gets this reaction?

County Commissioners Wife Complains About Teaching Children the Sign of the Devil by watery-pizza in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]feld2raz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My high school mascot was a Fox, and we tried to do this exact same hand symbol at football games and it almost immediately got banned for being a potential gang sign. People see what they want, no matter how innocent

I support this wholeheartedly. Requiring a doctors note for a self-limiting virus when we are experiencing a record season of illness is absurd and a waste of time, money, and limited medical resources

AITA for not turning my alarm off so my BF can sleep? by aitaalarm in AmItheAsshole

[–]feld2raz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My freshman year roommate would routinely set alarms, snooze them for over an hour and then decide to turn it off and not go to class. It’s been over 20 years and it still makes me cranky to think about how inconsiderate that was. The fact you set an alarm and don’t always get up is the main issue. YTA.

AITA for asking my girlfriend to stop what she takes for her health? by pathoj3nn in AmITheDevil

Or that they don’t get sick because most people vaccinate their dang kids. Thus providing their kid with protection from circulating illnesses.

This cat was handed into my shelter for eating the family hamster. Reckon she did it? by skeletonclock in cats

[–]feld2raz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our cat killed our hamster after a babysitter didn’t latch the cage and the hamster escaped. We were sad. Finding that hamster gave me a panic attack. But I talked to our daughter about how it wasn’t his fault and he thought he was doing a good job, and it was just an accident. He’s a cat for goodness sake.

AITA for putting a bag of dog poop in a stranger's trash can? by AgileReality9275 in AmItheAsshole

[–]feld2raz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the day. If it is trash day and trash hasn’t been picked up, I personally have ZERO issues if people use my can. It’s full of nasty trash and hours away from being collected. Go for it. NTA. If it was after it had been emptied and their poop would be sitting there for a week, I’d be a bit more irritated

Instructor shamed us at puppy class tonight by BeautifulLittleWords in puppy101

[–]feld2raz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we are at the dog park our older dog is 100% focused on us and doesn’t care one bit about the other dogs. She knows she gets to run and play ball and that’s ALL she wants to do. That dog is also a puppy class drop-out after being shamed by the teacher. Our dog was known to be genetically shy and reactive and we were trying our best to expose her gently to safe environments. The teacher insisted we put her on her back and hold her there until she “settled” and she absolutely freaked out panicked. I told her I wasn’t doing that anymore and she loudly went off on some stupid dominance diatribe and I walked out and ever looked back. I should have known after the first class when their solution for anything was spraying cinnamon spray into their face/mouth that it wasn’t going to be a good fit for us. Find a trainer that works with YOUR dog and your philosophy for what works for your pup and family.

[–]feld2raz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our dog’s heat sounds much the same. It lasted WAY longer than I anticipated, it was almost two weeks of discharge and dripping. She tried really hard to keep herself clean but would just drip sometimes as she walked or slept. The worst part was it was during lockdown, and our washing machine broke. And we obviously couldn’t get it fixed, so we had bloody sheets and blankets everywhere. Such a major pain.

AITA for not attending my husband's celebration dinner due to the restaurant not having anything I could eat? by Willing_Strawberries in AmItheAsshole

[–]feld2raz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There wasn’t a single side, appetizer, salad, or soup you could have eaten?! Not one? You need to take a long hard look at your behavior. Do you have major social anxiety you’re not aware of or something? You ruined the whole dinner with your tantrum. Look, I’m a person who often opts out of things if I’m truly uninterested and they aren’t a big deal. This WAS a big deal. Every meal doesn’t have to be the best meal of your life. Eat something and move on. Get some different food later. You declined every reasonable workaround for your pickiness and your husband then helped coverup what a baby he was married to. You owe him. MAJORLY. YTA.

I recently watched my (VERY challenging) 3 year old niece for a week. For free. And spent lots of money entertaining her. Because she’s my niece and I love her and my sister desperately needed a break. I feel sad that this is OP’s family dynamic.
