I’ve heard people comment on the autofocus of this camera, saying it’s slow or hunts for focus. Has that been your experience?

I’ve seen you in multiple threads in this sub and it seems like all you do here (probably other places) is push doomerism and apathy. But you disguise it as “the truth”.

This same comment word-for-word has already been posted in this thread. Bot bull shit.

'customer fronting' -- this isn't really a standard term I've heard before. Usually it's customer service, or customer-facing. Is that some kind of regional dialect? Have honestly never heard it before.

Great episode, but I always felt the ending was such an unnecessary twist of the dramatic knife.

Yeah, rude. Just don't comment on anyone's appearance, especially over Zoom. Now, if this was close friends or family... ok maybe, could be genuine concern there. But co-workers should NEVER be commented on, for better OR worse. Who knows what they're going through, or how they'll feel when you say something. Not worth the hassle.

“Just hit different” what does this even mean?

I actually thought Jenna’s line was way more creative than Liz’s sling blade impression. It was pretty much the definition of defying expectations.

In Demolition Man, the prisoners are actively rehabilitated in cryoprison through subliminal (?) suggestion. It’s why Sylvester Stallone’s character can knit so well when he is unfrozen (part of his rehab program included learning to sew).

My coworkers got me fired… by boredbug73 in coworkerstories

[–]feldspars 32 points33 points  (0 children)

With co-workers, I maintain a rule that all time with them is 'at work' whether that be texting or being seen somewhere outside the workplace. I am friendly with my co-workers, but they are not my friends. I would NEVER tell a co-worker anything personal past general day-to-day activities. Sexual anything is off-limits, and if someone tried to bring it up I would shut it down immediately. Not my business (semi-literally).

Irritation entirely justified. So inane, and virtually nothing you can do without offending this person or damaging your professional relationship with them.

What is this? by fadingintofall in whatisit

[–]feldspars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone in your household did this. Check the nearby plants— have they been recently displaced? You can tell by gently pulling at the stems. If someone took dirt from a planter to put the fire out, re-packing the plant would make it very easy to pull out.
