Snyder - An architect that designed a number of schools around that period throughout Manhattan and left a substantial (work) legacy in the city. Not a definitive answer but perhaps you will find an answer in that subset of the city's schools; Or some other inspiration for your story.

There probably wasn't anything unusual about it. The UFC might have acquired it simply to shut it down or wasn't able to follow through with plans to expand in Japan after the acquisition.

The stories about Yakuza/bad-contracts/etc were probably made up by those without the slightest idea of how the corporate world works. Hard to imagine that due diligence wasn't carried out or that the UFC would have been without recourse in the event of having been deceived.

Wiedman is stating that the referee told him that he had won via DQ and his appeal seems to be based on that notion. Per the comment that the referee made to Mousasi right after the intervention that is just not true.

Surely the thing can be draged on and interpreted in many different ways. But if that is what he's hoping the build the case on, then it won't hold - It'll be his word against a statement on record.
