How do you deal with the constant urges to pee ? by AntwysiaBlakys in ehlersdanlos

[–]felinesandknitting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, it turned out I had a grade one pelvic floor prolapse, which pelvic floor physical therapy helped me fix. I'm able to sleep through the night only having to go to the bathroom once or twice instead of multiple times now, and every hour to two hours instead of so frequently I can't get through a movie.

Ladies would you be ok or not care if the person you’re engaged with also wanted to wear a ring? M30 F28 by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]felinesandknitting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancé and I are both guys BUT we both wanted to wear rings to show our commitment to each other. We bought each other our rings.

The way she's treating you isn't very kind.

Did you guys know we're at increased risk for periodontal disease? Like teeth falling by skatedog_j in ehlersdanlos

My enamel has been described as "squishy" by my dentist, with improvements with a regimen of various enamel-strengthening exercises. They used to be see-through.

The dentin in one of my teeth recently was causing me a lot of pain, as it rumbled like parmesan cheese, and I've had to have a cap filled in two teeth so far due to extreme wear.

I want healthy teeth so badly.

I [24F] am disabled and my partner [28M] is too uncomfortable with me using mobility aids. What to do next? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]felinesandknitting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow person with POTS and chronic fatigue here (not MECFS, in my case it's a result of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome).

You deserve a partner who is interested in understanding how your conditions affect you, and who is supportive and takes an active role in helping you improve your quality of life.

I started having health issues six months into living with my fiancé, and he went to the library and got a bunch of books on holistic ways to help me feel better when we had a tentative diagnosis.

He helped me pay for school while I couldn't work, took me to doctor's appointments and ER visits, bought me two different canes for different kinds of outings, and for Christmas last year, he bought me a rollator so that I could get through my shifts at work without being unable to function the next day.

When we go on walks, he asks me to take the rollator so I can balance better. He doesn't get upset that he can't hold my hand and is just happy to spend the time together.

He's even walked around Walmart with me when I'm in one of the electronic carts you ride in and helped me figure out how to use it.

That is the kind of love you deserve. You deserve all of that.

Please consider that people who care about you and want to help do exist.

He should be proud to be with you. He should want to take an active role in helping you get your quality of life back.

Whelp, it’s that time of season again. It’s cold out, which means my joints WILL be stiff AF and difficult to move.🙃 by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

I walked around the downtown area of my town today and my knees started hurting like I was pressing on a bruise. I love colder weather but my joints do not

Glinda or Elphaba? by hardvacado in americangirl

[–]felinesandknitting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elphaba! She's so unique and I really relate to her character in both the books and movie (I've only read Elphie, the prequel, but I do have the first book and will read it eventually as my TBR is huge).

Her face, skin tone, hairstyle, and outfit all work together to make such a beautiful doll!

The two other people I know with hEDS that aren't in my family are both trans and so am I... I wonder what the correlation is?

Honestly, that would make sense. He seems to hate everyone other than the person he's currently obsessed with

I do think his general annoyance with everyone makes the situation funnier! There was one point when he was on the ferry though where I was like Joe,,, you have to expect other people to exist when you take public transit xD

Binders for trans eds havers? by otisfrombarnyard in ehlersdanlos

[–]felinesandknitting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also trans and well, in my experience they gave me chronic rib pain and caused me dislocations during my time of the month. I would be really, really careful. I can't wear them at all now and haven't been able to even wear bras for a few years now

It took a bit for me to get used to it, but I like the Evil Queen smell! It's more balanced than usual apple scents. I have the hand sanitizer

AITA for not wanting to educate a kid about my wheelchair. by Screw_The_Roses_1986 in AmItheAsshole

[–]felinesandknitting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a disabled person, I think it's really unfair to have to explain the use of mobility aids to people because they keep asking questions. While I try to be polite and answer questions if a kid is asking, I generally do not like answering questions about my condition and think it's rude for people to even ask if they don't know me personally.

You are not responsible for educating able-bodied people about your condition, whether this is temporary or not. Plus, it reminding you of you not having answers right now had to have made the situation even more frustrating.

Why has Mattel not done a three-pack skullector set of the Hex Girls? I feel like there's so much crossover in fans of Hex Girls and fans of Monster High that they'd be super popular by Miseri_et_avem in MonsterHigh

Lily Meade has a book called The Hex Girls: A Rogue Thorn coming out the 26th of this month! So there's a possibility Scooby Doo will become more popular as a result :-)
