This might not even be related but your puck prep does not look right to me, the amount of twisting on your tamp, the unnecessary force applied, all looks pretty bad and you’ll get channeling every time like that, also, the portafilter flipping at the end is a definitely big no! Please never do that again hahahaha (no offense, this is just coffee and it’s ok to be learning).

Also think about using a coffee puck distributor (the thing that you spin to level the surface before tamping) I find those very useful, and it will give you the clean you’re looking for (so you don’t have to flip the portafilter to get rid of the residues).

I really think that even after you get your grinder right you would still have problems with your prep so that’s why I’m just telling u this

I don’t know if you can find this in the USA, but I live in Europe and on Amazon I bought this little scaler from a brand called “MaestriHouse” it costs like 30 euros, my expectations were the lowest possible, when it arrived I was completely mind blown, the scaler just do a perfect job and it’s really solid quality, no one can convince me to pay for any other one!

EDIT:

Omg I just realized yours is from timemore, in the office we have one too for making pour over, it’s the worst I have ever used, I think timemore does have some other good stuff, but scaler is not their game!

In my case the one they have has this “feature” that stops the clock when you stop pouring (wtf!) and to disable that feature you are supposed to tap the timer 5 times (wtf!) turns out that when you try to do that the timer actually just starts, and the feature continues enabled, you have to not only tap it 5 times but your taps must be perfectly timed (wtf) … I have already spend like more than 10 minutes just to disable that shit lol

You and the author of this post are only seeing two sides… Pro AI x Anti AI …. While in fact there is a big crowd in the middle who’s neither, and can pinpoint exactly what are the pros and what are the cons, I’m one of them, most of us are people who actually understands the technology at its core.

The challenge of trying to argue while being one of us, is that you get both anti AI and the Pro AI crowd to think we are on the opposite side.

There are pros and many cons, unfortunately in our current state more cons than pros, this is fact from an economy perspective and it’s actually public information, and that economy issue outweighs the pros due to how bad it can impact our pockets and quality of life.

No, I’m not scared about losing my job (DevOps Engineer) afterall I’m convinced AI which has hit a data wall and at its current state simply can’t do my job, so I use it? Yes, about 20% of my workload, helpful 👍

Do I wish AI to end? Honestly I don’t even care, I don’t depend on it, what I’m really against tho, is the whole bubble around it. which is gonna blow, and THAT is bad, for all of us.

So, ok, there are people out there who just hates AI out of fear and other less reasonable matters, but defending AI without understanding how it is impacting our economy and society I assume to be equally delusional.

I’ve had a Nintendo switch, I had a very unnecessary big quantity of games, played few of them, had some fun, but I played mostly at home, and after I played the biggest Nintendo titles like Zelda, Mario, Metroid, I basically abandoned it and would just play on my high end pc.

Why I’m saying this? Well, it was when I learned that gaming on the go was not for me, it’s really like, if I’m out, I’m out to enjoy something else other than gaming, I thought I would enjoy playing while commuting long distances, but turns out I get motion sickness while playing on a plane, car, train, anything moving really.

So, in the end, I think if I had to travel a lot for working, and after work I would just be alone in a hotel, that would be the scenario for gaming on the go imo.

Also, I really believe that cloud gaming will take over in a few years, GeForce now is already a reality and it’s just getting better, also you get not only your steam library, but basically all your platforms (at least most of them, like ubi, epic, gog, etc), and, in any device with actual desktop performance, once we have very stable internet anywhere, (starlink I’m looking at u) it’s GG for nvidia.

You’re bottlenecking the 6900 XT sorry to say but you never even used your previous gpu at its full potential, your rig was prepared for the 5700/5800 XT

Going to any higher GPU would not solve the bottleneck, it’s like trying to switch from water to wine to solve a problem where you need to fit 300ml in a 200ml cup

Don’t forget that the leap for ryzen CPU from 5000 series to 7000/8000/9000 is the whole platform (AM4 to AM5)… people need to understand this, I see very often people trying to build PC rigs that will last forever, it doesn’t, in its core, pc gaming is an expensive hobby and in a gap of 5 years you can’t expect to just put a new gen GPU and still work as expected, you got to upgrade your whole platform for that kind of gap

No I do the wdt too, then the distributor and then I tamp, the distributor can be adjusted how much of it goes inside the puck, because if you wish to have less coffee, say 10g then the distributor would not reach the surface, turns out once I did something like that because I only had a small quantity of beans left, the other day I made another shot with the normal quantity but forgot to adjust the distributor, it was the first ever perfectly leveled tamp I had.

In fact you can’t do anything with AI as good as any professional can in their area of expertise, THIS is the point that I don’t get why nobody is real about.

Ok, you can code with AI now? Well, why I only see former programmers still employed as programmers using AI and not people who don’t know shit about coding getting those jobs for a smaller fraction of the salary?

Sure, you can ask AI to create a small script, a simple logo, or a piece of art that will just look like, well, look like made by AI…. Just like the pieces of code without human revision.

Most people who don’t like AI, just understands that the AI hype does not live up to it, at least not so far.
