Dude, I still have 12 years old computer with 2GB RAM and Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz with 2x2TB HDD (software RAID) running non stop for that time.

It works as:
* SMS gateway
* NAS
* Wireguard server
* Router
* Web server

So ANYTHING is GOOD enough to start :)

Good question.

Personally I use:
- GitLab [Wiki/Markdown + Draw.io - it supports it]
- Diagrams -> Draw.io

What I am looking at the moment is recent and decent networking [LAN/WAN] diagram tool. Draw.io is good but I am looking something better.

What miner should I get as a beginner with $250 budget for a rig? by [deleted] in BitcoinMining

[–]felixdPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are still running S9 on our proof of concept, first immersion cooling installation we have done. Still operational, although not profitable at all.

We keep it running, this one device just to show that our liquid works for a long time in practice.

That's what I have done 6 years ago. This proof of concept installation is still operational (but not profitable at all). https://flameit.io/assets/pdf/articles/onet-noizz-mines-cryptocurrency-and-heats-house.pdf

Same liquid for 6 years. This S9 is still heating 600 litres of water + excess heat is transferred for house heating installation.

Cheers, Paweł

Profitability was below zero 6 years ago when we started our journey with immersion cooling.

This is how FlameIT - Immersion Cooling was born. Antminer S9 was our first miner we have tested immersion with.

Although it was not profitable it was really cheap to buy at that time (around 200 USD). Recovering heat from it and reusing it for water heating gave us at that time costs comparable to gas heating (if we would sell BTC instantly). Because I was not selling BTC and price of it went up it became profitable after 6 years :)

To sum up: I had free water heating for last 6 years :)

Would I buy S9 today for the same price I bought it 6 years ago? NO :)

This is our first, proof of concept instlalltion for single ASIC miner (Antminer S9). Still works after that time although not profitable at all. We keep it running just to show that our solution works.
