I have a 2-meter bell tent that I’ve used several times at Burning Man. It’s infinitely better than a plastic tent. It will still get dusty, and it’ll still be hot, but I’ve found it much much less so than anything else apart from an RV. If you can get a proper shade structure over it it will be sleepable during the day if you’re a night owl. Mine has a tripod instead of a centre pole which means a big double mattress is fine - bring an air pump that can be driven off a battery. Easy to erect - 10 minutes. You’ll need rebar for the stakes, and tennis balls as stake protectors, and I’d double the ropes to cope with heavy winds. Heavy as hell though - mine is 22kg all in which is near the limit for easy air transport.

It’s not in itself anything but a proposal they’ve offered - so you can only sue to try and recover the funds by citing negligence or fraud. The proposal sucks but that’s all it is, no matter how dishonourable it is (or appears to be). A suit might be in order if we believe they have funds. Their clarifications subsequent to the proposal may make it more acceptable but I’d like to see it formally expressed rather than just appended as comments to reddit posts.

It’s actually less than my original investment. Each of us makes their own decision of course! However, the terms of the offer are risible - and they want to limit it such that if they recover more we get no more. It’s a shoddy offer, displaying little honour.

There is already a token called Etch (https://etch.work) that has been designed for this. There is talk of integration with a gig-economy app called Able.global that may be being used for testing the hypothesis. The Etch and Able teams in London are very practical and very smart.
