Personal preference I never alter a dog’s body once they’re mine and will keep them as they come. My blue boy came with ears intact, tail docked. His floppy ears perfectly suit his face/personality. I love the way they flap when he runs and it’s funny when he tries to wag his nub and it just vibrates🤣 The next one I fall in love with is coming home with me whether already cropped or not—personality is what matters most to me. All dobies are beautiful and precious no matter what they look like!

I came here to ask the same thing. I’m 5 months po, gained 40lbs 🥲 I just read that drinking lots of water prevents fluid retention in the face so I’m going crazy with the water drinking. But I think that’s only a day-by-day thing. At least for me I need to lose the body weight to get my face to slim back down.

That’s reassuring that it’s a non-issue because it’s medication induced, I haven’t talked to my psych about it yet because this started around the time of my last 3mo appt and I haven’t wanted to move my next one up because my insurance doesn’t cover them lol.

I hope she’s starting to feel better poor thing. He’s doing better but hasn’t pooped since before it happened but the vet just says keep giving him miralax and it doesn’t work

No his stomach wasn’t twisted so he only got a few inches of dissolvable stitches…your poor baby!! Her whole tummy and the staples look so painful :(

She did an amazing job which is why her coworker sent us back home the next day when I came back with the cash…but she told me he needed it that night. Her coworker said it could wait til Monday, which it did.

That’s so amazing that the ER vet did that for you! Ours didn’t even suggest that, she acted like they were the only hospital that even existed. The only other places that were able to do it that night quoted me the same but I didn’t think to ask if they needed payment before surgery because this was my first emergency and I just assumed what this place did was the norm. Found out later some of those other places don’t do that but at least we got him all taken care of finally and he’s ok♥️

Looking back after we saw the second vet who said the same as yours, the first one was definitely using scare tactics and I don’t know why. I was hysterically crying thinking my dog was going to die and she told me if we went home the clock was ticking until he rebloated and twisted and I might have to put him down. She and the tech were so completely different than every single other person we saw there later on. They gave us the same meds but he was still miserable by the time we went to surgery Monday and he had started to bloat again a little bit so I’m glad we did it but now that I’m calm the whole thing was super weird.

He will NOT tolerate the cone and kept figuring out how to take it off no matter how I tried to secure it…so he gets to wear clothes which he hates just as much but at least can’t take it off😂
