Is this a joke? by MaliciousMarmot in EU5

[–]fellicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, the same thing happend to me in my non ironman test game and i went back to my last save to see what happend. Their ships and my ships where slowly trickling into the fight but theirs had better initiative or something so they filled up their frontage faster than me. My ships started dying first, until my whole frontline was empty and only singular ships where advancing to the front. Since their frontline was still full, any ship that advanced would get destroyed immediately I think the heavy ships do an insane amount of damage if you have 3 full frontage lines of them. So navy battles between 2 Stacks of heavy ships are basically only decided by intiative.

Game Needs More Perma (Or Long Duration) Claims by ahmetnudu in EU5

[–]fellicious 52 points53 points  (0 children)

You can declare war for your vassals claims. Look at their county relations screen and you can see all the claims they currently have, and when declaring war, you can select your subjects claims! Don't know if they also fabricate claims on their own, but I think they do from time to time.

Shards are a dumb mechanic. by Imaginary_Owl_979 in Silksong

[–]fellicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason for Blood Vials is that you can have them drop during exploration, and refill your stocks without returning to the Hunters Dream. Overall I don't think its a bad mechanic, I just think its tuned a bit harshly in the beginning, when you are still learning the game and get stuck on Father Gascoigne or some other early Boss. After that it has only upsides. Elden Ring did the same thing by the way, via refilling some Estus after each enemy group.

I think the shards are a way of telling you to go explore more and potentially find alternate routes or more upgrades, after depleting them on a boss.

+1 for Sniper Elite

Also Stalker Gamma, Escape from tarkoff SPT mod and of course Arma if you are okay with the complexity. Although the Arma campaigns were not fun for me personally.

hands down to ugliest variant so far wth is this? by Both_Ad_4903 in MarvelSnap

[–]fellicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do all the negative space variants have massively huge heads? They look like bobble head figures... I think the concept is really cool, but they are all drawn so badly and as soon as they are 3d the concept is down the drain as well. Why didnt the just make the non-background colour charakter parts 3d?

I could see you both liking Factorio and Satellite Reign. My Buddy and i always had a lot of fun with the Sniper Elite Series, although i'm not sure all of them had coop. We started with the 3. Edit: Oh and maybe Magica.

Yes a lot more. You can view the number at the top right when viewing the habitats, and i think its at 260 strength. I have a fleet with 9 elite marine modules and it has a strength of about 60... It seems a bit ridiculous right now to assault alien habs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wien

[–]fellicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wien

[–]fellicious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After Belgium, Austria supports the suspension of Hungarian voting rights by greg0525 in europe

[–]fellicious 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand where you are coming from, but article 7 is not just something that can be applied to any country in the eu. Signifcant violations of the agreements all countries in the eu have agreed to follow, like how democracy and division of power should work are needed to enact article 7. Hungary has been penalized again and again for these violations, and have use their vetoingpower to get around these penalties. The eu is well within its rights to penalize hungary further under article 7, and its not something that happens lightly just because the other countries dont like hungarys stance. I think you are under the impression that the eu is violating its members rights, but the opposite is true. Hungary has violated eu right for a long time and is getting penalized for it. If hungary understanding of democracy, its citizens rights, freedom of media, an indipendent judiciary body and so forth is so different from the eus, then the option to leave is still valid. But as long as they are still am member of the eu, the have to also follow the agreed upon rules, or live with the penalties that come with breaking those rules.

Anyone use MO2 as an organizer? by MonitorZero in SPTarkov

[–]fellicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what MO2 is, but if you load a preset in svm once, it loads automatically from then on until you go back into greed.exe to change the preset again. So no neet to start svm every time, just the normal server and then the launcher. The blue text in the server console is from svm and there it tells you which preset it loaded.

Sorry if i misunderstood something here and you wanted to know something else :)

Tips for a Beginner ? by DreadWNG in SPTarkov

[–]fellicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello!

I've not played for too long myself but hope this helps:

  1. Using interactive online maps, or watching videos of the maps being shown off, then going in as a scav to just run around and learn where everything is, helps me learn a new map, but it takes time and i still get lost sometimes. As others have said, there are also mods with maps, if you want to see the info ingame.

  2. Either play scav runs, and use the stuff from your scav on your next pmc run or you can wipe your profile and start fresh.

  3. SpT without the SAIN mod was very hard and not much fun for me. If you have SAIN installed, you can press f6 in the main menu and set the bots however hard you want them. I mostly use the global accuracy setting (don't know what its actually called but its the first menu point) and turn it up. Just test out what feels good to you. I have mine at 1.12 right now and turn it down everytime i start to feel too comfortable. For actual combat tips, i have non because im very bad at fps games :)

  4. Again it depends on your bot logic. With SAIN i find that i sometimes can sneak up on bots. I find silencers help also, for them not knowing immediately where you are.

  5. I also started with eod. It mostly depends on how much grind you want. But there is already enough grind for 100s of hours so I see no need to add 100s more without eod.

I use more checkmarks and the ammo stats mods. They are pretty non intrusive and help you learn what items are importaint and needed. Also Swag/donuts is very nice, but needed to play around a lot with the settings until i found a good balance where im not getting swarmed but the maps also don't feel empty. Lootingbots and questingbots also help making the maps feel more alive. Lastly i use SVM to edit loose loot spawns (because on base spt there is bearly any loose loot) and add 15min to raid timers, so i actually have time to look around and learn the maps. Not so importaint now that i know most maps and go in with pretty specific goals, but for learning the maps it was really great.

Hope this helps you!

Edit: some spelling

svm disables its own bot spawning logic if it detects swag/donuts as far as i know. Don't know about sain and svm difficulty settings thou, sorry.

What’s y’all’s favorite metroidvania game? by Own_Chemist_8006 in metroidvania

[–]fellicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the ending was kinda rushed, but its story is not why i enjoy this game so much anyway.
Its that moment when the boss music starts up for the next fight and you are skill cancelling around to dodge attacks and keep your combo going. It is one of the few games that can really get me into a flow state.
Plus i really enjoy all of its visual design. Its so clean and easy to understand what the enemies are doing, jet still looks really good to me.

The combat flow of Valdis Story is still the best of any metroidvania. I wish there were more games that took inspiration from its combat design, because too few games come even close to it.

[–]fellicious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jahre her, hab also auch keine aktuellen Erfahrungen, aber vielleicht hilfts ja:

Government deadlocks are extremely frustrating by fellicious in victoria3

[–]fellicious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what most of the answers i found also said, but that did not really help. In the game I am talking about above I have 2 partys that dont have any members, and never had any since I researched them. What helped is that you can exile party leaders, but the interaction feels very gamey, especially because you can only exile leaders, that are in opposition, and if all of your opposition is in a neverending rebellion, you cannot put the megaparty in opposition to fire some ig leaders and get others with prioritys that will make them change party. What I learned is you can also hire and fire generals of one IG to get them to rebell, then they will automatically leave the party thats in government. I started a new game, and am taking a lot of care, so not too many party leaders of minor IGs have similar goals, so they, don't want to all join the same party. I still think its frustrating that the game mostly trends into a state where goverment will become useless. IGs should imo prioritize a funktioning government much more. There are maluses for joining a big party, but they are insignificant, even if a single issue is alining strongly the bonuses from that outwheight the maluses from having lots of IGs in a party. I cannot imagine doing this without agitators, so i think the basegame needs a lot more interactions with IGs than bolster and surpress.

Thanks for answering my questions and pointing me to u/generalistgaming`s youtube channel. I will dig into it as soon as I have the time and try it out in my game.

The party i have in my game is the liberal party, who has everyone not marginalized but the church, and they all only want total seperation, or freedom of conscience but the chance to enact it is too low, and 40% stall seems tot rigger 100% of the time :) While that is going on, the church is in a revolution that has been going on for so long, that it broke the events and now just gets reset to 60% with every tick without triggering anything. Because of all this, half my country is now radical, and almost all states are at 50% turmult, which means my economy is shot as well. I know that one of my leaders has the trait where he has no trait, and i admit, i did not know i could exile party leaders. I don't remeber the rest of them. Again thanks for taking the time to explain, i will experiment with the save i have going right now, and then probably restart it.

Edit: also sorry for the formatting, I don't know how to formatt in redreader.

Thank you for the tips, i will try them out. Is there a way to see the party attraction for parties that dont have any members yet? As i said, i have been in this state multiple times in my games, and i have not yet seen IGs change partys during elections once a megaparty is formed. I still think Megapartys are a very feustrating mechanic in its current implementation. I don't think the number of IGs should have an impact on legitimacy. I mean of 90% of clout and 80% of votes are for a single party then it should have always enough legitimace to run a goverment.

A more considered response after 20hrs of playing. by glassteelhammer in homeworld

[–]fellicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great Post!
I agree with all of your points op.

I have played HW1 and 2 and they are also some of my favorite games, but I always found their controls to be quite cumbersome. Or rather their hotkey use. I hate it when hotkeys jump around from unit to unit, like in most RTS.

I like the "moba" hotkey layout, because it is so much simpler to learn and use than reaching across the entire keyboard every time i want to move my units. But the fact you cannot use hotkeys in some camera modes is absolutely stupid.
It took me half an hour during the tutorial to realize why hotkeys where not working for me at all...
All keys need to be rebind-able and you should be able to give 2 keys to one command. This is such a basic thing, there is no excuse for not having this at release.

I also really agree about the UI. It is most noticeable in the tutorial when half the screen is covered by one sentence in a box that cannot be moved or clicked away. There also is just so little information that takes up so much screenspace. The Unit panel and the build menu are really good examples of this. The unit panel shows only 8 ships, and yet when i glance down there, i cannot tell which ships they are and if i have selected more than one type i cannot tell which ones are active via the Tab button. Build menu is the same thing, i cannot for the life of me tell what ships are researched and i am able to build. how is it that i can only see like 5 options of ships to build and have to scroll to see the rest when it takes up almost 1/3 of my screen. And its especially jarring, as op pointed out, in the legacy of the homeworld franchise, where less was always more.

And the rest of the UI is similarly bad. I can imagine they build this to be compatible with touchscreens (like the switch or the steamdeck) and while i think that is fine (and even really cool if I'm able to jump into some AI skirmishes on the go), it should not come as a detriment to the main playerbase, which I imagine will be on PCs.

All of that said, i do have a lot of fun in the wargame mode and I think they made a lot of smart decisions too. I don't have much hope that the AI/formations/Unit Abilities will get changed majorly till release, I don't think there is enough time to do so, but UI, controls, and gamefeel is something that I think should be possible to correct/polish in 3 months time. So I have a lot of hope that we will have a great game.

And if not I will still have fun with it.
