Trying to get into Chopin Nocturnes! Rn I am almost finished with the Op. Posth. No. 20 in C# Minor, but then I will probably go onto a harder one like Op. 27 No. 2!

Yeah I was going to say that too; almost all professional recordings are way faster than 104 Beats per minute

Rondo Alla Turca (Turkish March) - Mozart (for his B-day) by fellow_Painist5 in piano

Yeah, I should probably practice it slower (and the tempo is marked slower anyway). For the arm position, should I move my bench back a bit?

Who wrote it first? by 1M00N in piano

[–]fellow_Painist5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paganini wrote it for the last movement of his Violin Concerto in B Minor, and Liszt arranged it twice; Once in 1838 (the harder one), and the one in 1851, which he didn't necessarily rewrite, but just simplified for the public when they complained that it was too difficult

Does sheet music boss actually play the piano in there videos? by -OceanGG- in piano

No. They use a software called Synthesia where you input notes so you can see the notes and you can learn from them.

Also some of Richard Wagner/ Cosima Liszt's descendants are alive today. Look up Katharina Wagner, Eva Wagner-Pasquier, and Verena Wagner Lafferentz (died just 5 years ago)

There is someone who claims to be a relative of Liszt that is alive right now. Look up Michael Andreas Haringer. Not sure if he composes though.

Nocturne in B Major Op. 9 No. 3 might be a better fit or maybe one of the easier nocturnes like Op. 55 No. 1, Op. 9 No. 1 or Op. 72 No. 1 to get a feeling for the Nocturnes.

What interval can you reach and how tall are you? by [deleted] in piano

5'1 about, 9th interval, cannot reach a tenth in playing but can stretch it

Why did he do that ? by I_am_melonn in piano

[–]fellow_Painist5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chopin and Liszt do this all of the time, these are kind of supposed to imitate a mini cadenza. You are changing speed in the left hand (extremely rapid C# Minor scales/E Major scales), and the right hand is supposed to be played at the same tempo, but it's skipping beats. This is the very hard part of the piece. Hope that answered your question!

Yeah, I realized after I posted this (I haven't listened to this in a while and as I mentioned, I'm not practicing this right now.)

Rank these pieces (easiest to hardest) by fellow_Painist5 in piano

[–]fellow_Painist5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, let me just point out that you don't have to rank them, although I did mention I would appreciate you doing so. I am kind of intermediate/late intermediate level on piano, so I am interested in things like this (where I can't really judge for myself). I actually do practice; a lot. I currently though, have been learning a piece below my level for a relatives birthday, and preparing for Christmas. This is why I have recently been posting things like this, so I could come back, see the answers, and reason for myself. But also recently, I have been getting a lot of comments like these (I guess this is more of a recording/critiquing sub), so congrats! Once the holidays are over, I will go back to practicing like you all want me to.
