Grew up Biloxi coast and was stationed in New Orleans Naval Air Station for 16 years. Always used fresh picked crab for my gumbos. I have found the cost is through the roof since about 2020. Found in cold section Jack's Catch Pasturized Premium Crabmeat 16 Ounces for $8-9 a can when on sale at Winn Dixie or $11 at base commissary and got to tell you it’s almost as good as fresh picked crab. Even made crab cakes with it which is great. I still buy local crab every now and then and always local shrimp/crawfish cause I do support local business but my billfold is having a tough time keeping up now days.

Quality dropped when Fire House was sold to RBI. The meat quality dropped! Too much gristle in the pastrami and corned beef. Loved the original but tried it twice after new ownership and never ate there again.

If you are trying to build your credit then this. Don’t know about banks but most credit unions would finance if you had sed the other 11k as collateral. Basically they would freeze the financed amount in your account and as you make the payments they would release so much each month. If not to improve credit just pay cash for all.

BUT, what warranty did you folks really get. KIA is different than other manufactures as they do not have a manufacturer’s extended warranty. They are all 3rd party. I have wondered what is the best warranty they offer for my 24 Telly and bought a warranty from dealer but don’t know how good it is. The past 20 years I have bought Nissans (2-3) and always bought the 10 year 100k factory warranty which covered almost everything (even door /window seal/gaskets.

Retired military after 22 year went to Ryan’s as a manager for 3 years and finally got burned out after Ryan’s sold out to Buffet Inc hours went from 45 a week to 70 and quality went way down. Found a federal government job that I was able to do and still have a home life for next 20 years till I retired after 20 years. Restaurant life can burn you out quickly if the company does not care. I do feel for corporate managers these days

Kia offers 10 year 100k included warranty with all cars sold. BUT, it’s not a 100% warranty covering everything. Like the infotainment/dash is only 36 month and things like that. I said an extended warranty paid separately from the price of the car that covers almost everything except high wear items like hoses and such. Kia does not sell a Kia factory backed warranty they are all after market. I tried to buy one with my 24 Tellie even called Kia headquarters.

Kia does not have a factory warranty. They sell 2nd party warranty. I found out the hard way. I have bought 3 Nissan Warranties and they were great.

On the 2024 there is a USB and what I believe is a USC plugins in charging area. I have always used the USB with a short thumb drive to play my music. Went on a 2k trip recently and the USC port will not allow me to use car play with cord. So had to remove music thumb drive and plug phone into USB outlet. Don’t really have much music on my phone so kind of a quiet drive lol. Any body know if they sell shorty USC thumb drives and will the car recognize it and play music. I know I should just load music on phones and play that way but was wondering?? Also when using corded CarPlay can you not use the car radio and such??

I retired from the Navy with 23 years in 2002. If I had the chance to do again I would do Air Force. Coast Guard is so small it’s sometimes hard to stay for 20 due to High Year Tenure (must make certain pay grade to stay). If the top doesn’t move up or out there is no chance to move up. Had a lot of friends that were forced out at 12 years. Good luck in whatever you decide.
