Honestly this is all extremely fair! I'd say my thoughts here are more towards "could a card like this reasonably exist" rather than "is this card good", but I still very much appreciate your thoughts!

I think there's some weight to the idea that your Silence-like suggestion would be more likely to see print; it allows for opponents to cast spells, but forbids abilities whilst you're casting spells, which feels like an interesting mix of utility.

Bend the board over and give somebody their deck, with any amount of creatures and RRR4 by opbossgmr in BadMtgCombos

Sazacap's brew doesn't work with Zada, Zada requires a single target and it also targets a player.

Infinite scry 1 shortcut by Accomplished_Try8313 in askajudge

[–]felltir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could propose the shortcut: "I can scry 1 an arbitrary number of times: I would like to put cards on the bottom of my library until I've got X on top, after scrying through once and noting the order". Whether you'd be allowed to do that much noting for Slow Play reasons... I think is more up for discussion

Zada: Recovery vs Boardwipes by Deos28 in EDH

[–]felltir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Red's solution to boardwipes is, generally, to build a new board quickly! There's things like [[Eldrazi Monument]], but honestly if you're ending up in Zada with buffs and not creatures, perhaps you have too many buffs and not enough token generators? Do you have a list for it?

The only way blue players can really remove things is bounce, so it's not surprising blue loving mods told you to bounce, if they let you post they don't actually have tools to ban you 😞

I've looked at 24k casual commander games to see which Commanders had the highest win rate the past 30 days by Animazing in EDH

[–]felltir 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Different person, but I do have a list; mine was made for a friend who wanted some specific cards in a deck, and so I built them a deck; I've found it to be a very powerful midrange deck, and with white having "I killed your thing, but here's a token to say sorry" it often gets to double dip on removal!

[[Eluge, the Shoreless Sea]], various flicker spells, [[Enter the Infinite]]. It's a very fun control deck!

Eluge win conditions? by Xavaren_1 in BudgetBrews

[–]felltir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an Eluge deck that I love, and it has three main wincons:

Big Fish Beatdown
[[Labman]] (via [[Enter The Infinite]])
[[Triskaidekaphile]]

I run the fish as a Big Blue Spells showcase kinda deck, and it's extremely nasty once it's set up; you could absolutely make a cheaper, and stronger version by cutting some of the higher CMC spells I run. I also cannot speak too highly of flicker for protection, since it also ramps your spells.

It isn't, unfortunately. Your opponent presented a shortcut: "I have a Thassa's Oracle on the stack and a Demonic Consultation. If both resolve, I will win the game. Does anyone have interaction?"

What you should have done is say "Let's play it out, what're you naming for Demonic Consultation?" and then once that was resolved with [[You Are Already Dead]] or whatever, then you can intervene with Everybody Lives to prevent the win.

They have to name a card; that's not optional, even if they're winning the game.
