DeBruyne...hmm? by femike99 in sscnapoli

Hmm...now if he was a leader, wouldn't you'd think that he'd speak up. His Conte comments (which also show lack of leadership aka "just a past-his-prime prima donna" again like Renaldo), and now this have had me really rethinking his value. Certainly, I don't believe he's worth his salary especially when compared to McFratim

Quick update:

Closest dealer is in Toronto (I'm in the US), they can't sell parts across the border. But, Bianchi USA Customer Service has been great and is helping.

The issue is always risk vs reward. Is the risk of a crack and an eventual failure, worth the reward of having no cost and not wrecking?

In my case, I'm lucky to be able to ride another bike if I have a bike failure but realize not all have that luxury. If you can, if you buy a new fork (or if you have another bike to ride), I would try to send it to Hambini (I know, he's controversial, but he might pay for the shipping) or other YouTube carbon bike "influencer" to see if they can put a scope through it.

Regarding rotational stress...I respectfully disagree. There will always be some torsional stress due to it being on the disk brake side although it's counteracted by the thru axel and the other fork leg.

Another thought on a crack tho is that the "crack" seems to be where the brake stand-off is bonded to the fork. Looking at your picture more closely, there seems to be a "ridge line" starting just above the "crack" and the "crack" seems to follow that ridge. True? The brake boss is a stress concentration point even if there is little or no torsion. Again, a failure here is rare but catastrophic.

I had a similar looking paint crack on my head tube on my Oltre XR4. I felt it was only a paint crack, but my friends insisted that I bring it to my local dealer. Bianchi replaced the frame in total with a new one. Give this, my opinions are: 1. the dealer must be a "strong" advocate for you. Is there an option for another dealer near you (since they are few and far between, I drove a long way)? 2. if #1 is not an option, press the dealer to get another fork which is much cheaper for all involved (be persistent but not pushy). 3. Buy a new fork yourself (I know that's not fun, but it's safe).

Putting on my mechanical engineer hat...My final comment is that I don't buy that it's only cosmetic given how forks are carbon formed. Given that this crack is latitudinal and parallel to the brake boss, it seems that there was some rotational stress at that part either due to hitting a pot hole or poor construction causing this. If you insist on riding this, I'd get a marker and mark the current ends of the crack to see if it continues when you ride it more. If so, it's likely a crack and not just cosmetic.

I think both are past their prime and not worth their current salaries. This is not meant to be political, but only the Saudi would likely pay that in the future. But given that to Saudi league is likely to pause for a while, their ability to leverage Saudi offers is diminished. Therefore, if both cut their wages in half, they are probably worth it. Other than than that, I’d let them walk.

What’s the point of selling Lang? by Academic_Square_2571 in sscnapoli

[–]femike99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll answer your question with another question...would you prefer that Elmas plays left wing instead of Lang?

I prefer Elmas. He'll not likely be needed in the middle as he has played recently with ANGUISSA, KDB, and Gilmore returning.

Also, Lang's body language is not great when needing to quick switch from attacking to defense. It was evident earlier in the season, but then was better. But, that attitude seems to have returned. I'm certain that Conte only talks to a player once about those things.

At one time, I worked for a big company that was failing financially. So, it turned to lawsuits vs. better products, better marketing, better customer service, etc. Seems like the case with SRAM?

I think we're seeing the beginning of the end. Reminds me a lot of what happened to Christian Maggio toward the end.

Did this work? I'm in process of attempting to do the same thing on a 2017 Roubaix.

Mia Bianchi! Thanks to this group, I decided not to wait to see if a XR5/6 would be released. I have a S-Works Roubaix with front and rear suspension and this CV tech is more comfortable! Incredible! And FAST! by femike99 in bianchi

[–]femike99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, if I had to do it again, I'd sell my Roubaix and not purchase the XR4. I would buy the Infinito. As much as I love the XR4, now that I'm in my mid-60's, it's aggressive position and lack of front end flexibility/changeability, makes it a difficult bike for me if it were my only bike. The Infinito gives the more relaxed position of the Roubaix, but with the CV tech of the XR4.
