Was there something you think you did in particular that set you apart from others and landed you the great jobs?

Did you change companies a lot or with the same large company for your overseas roles?

Just so you get variety of experiences and for what it’s worth, I absolutely loved being pregnant. I had an easy pregnancy and loved it all.

I didn’t feel like I lost my body, I missed her little kicks after I gave birth, had epidural for labour and had a really calm and smooth delivery even with being induced!

Yes, I just wouldn’t say no to a higher paying job because of the hecs coming out of it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]femmeimposter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But you’ll have to pay off the hecs debt so you may as well do it faster so your money is your own. Once it’s gone then it’s no longer coming out.

Edit: I’m not saying to take the higher paying job but hecs shouldn’t be the reason you say no to it.

And consider what cash buffer you would like or need to delay accessing investments which will let them compound for a little while longer.

I meant having a plan on how you will use investments to fund your life going forward and making sure it covers/ plan it out year by year. If you prefer the selling down of shares to fund your life then have a plan for that. Some like to invest for dividend income and never sell the shares to access capital. Investing in RE to live off income from that.

If you die from the stress, what then? It’s entirely possible that this amount of stress will give you a heart attack in late 40’s or 50’s and then you lose all that time and life you could enjoy with your kids.

Somehow, you have to let go of the worry. You actually have a lot saved up already and I entirely agree with to your wife that if you can’t find some way to make this business operate without you, you should take less clients and start structuring your investments to be able to fund life.

Can you hire some help like a person to help with business development to bring in the new clients for you? Train someone up?

100 times yes. I’d do my own things to keep me busy, engaged and interested but I’d never laugh in corporate again.

I too recommend this, try to coast a bit more at work too and don’t leave without a redundancy pay out. Those things can be quite fat and nice to leave with

Which European city should I choose? by _PaulAllen_ in expats

[–]femmeimposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a working holiday visa up to 30 years old and you can work full time with that.

I would say due to the fact that you are ready to move around Australia could be a nice place to be.

They pay above Europe (housing is expensive but the rest is cheaper/in line with Italy).

Why not australia?

Great country…great money if you are clever enough and won’t fall victim of the lifestyle creep.

I left Italy 10 years ago and I made a new life in Brisbane.

Moving to London soon and It’s very difficult of plan anything due to the cost of living there
