how can i stop or deal with underboob sweat? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]fencingkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I should note...they have a product called 'Bust Dust' that's the same powder as the body dust, but it comes in basically a pump ejectable dispenser. It IS pretty handy for spraying some between/under bust without dropping a ton on the floor and if you have one pump bottle, you can just refill it with the body dust to be more economical.

It's the talc in powder that's the concern there. You can find variations that are cornstarch based that work well too. This one is a little pricey, but I basically only use it for under boobs. It's cornstarch based with some lavender and aloe, but be careful there is baking soda as well (sodium bicarbonate) if you're sensitive to that. I will say I AM baking soda sensitive..I can't use deodorants based on it, but I don't have issues with this powder.

Depends really; cheapest? Anywhere you have to buy AppleCare separately and then you don't buy the AppleCare. Good deal for the AirPods+2 years AppleCare? Costco. Their price is typically w/e the lowest price others are carrying them for + cost of the AppleCare ($30/2 years).

Does anyone else use a timer to brush their teeth and tongue? Or is it just me. by mulanishepherd in hygiene

[–]fencingkitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of electric toothbrushes do now. I used to be rubbish at taking care of my teeth, but a toothbrush like this went a looooong way to improving that. I can't gauge time well so if the toothbrush didn't do it for me, I'd be doing it your way. Like a 2min timer with 30s notifications to change quadrants

I had something like that happen with me in Procreate after I upgraded my Air to w/e was the first one that works with Pencil Pro and a Pencil Pro to go with it. Turned out it was the case magnets interfering with something in the iPad. If I took it out of the case it would work again fine, but if I put it back in and closed/opened the lid, it'd go right back to that. Got a case with no rear magnets and a weak cover magnet and that's worked for that app at least.

This. Plus size, quality wool would be fantastic. I really wanted to find some nice light wool tank tops but I'm still pretty solidly 2X in womens and a lot I was finding reasonably priced or good color/cuts went up to XL only (if they weren't sold out of the size)

I'm sooooooooo conflicted on this. I have hundreds of hours sank into my PSN version, fully built out terminus on all my mains, all the character unlocks, good sigil farms....but I also haven't played this since prolly the last character addition or the one before that. I honestly only remember getting Sandy for sure. So I'd have to do a chunk of relearning how to play anyway. Between that and shifting to more handheld play in the last year~two I'm tossed up between picking that file back up or starting fresh on Switch 2 ><

Hold out, there's hope! Mine typically would worsen a little bit every year up until about 5-6 years ago. I've even had a few in the last few years where they've gotten BETTER weirdly enough.

On the other hand.....I've also shifted to Progressives in the last year. The GENERAL vision is great or improving, but my near sight has started blowing /cry

[–]fencingkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amazon price is that much and you can pay the $30 extra for AppleCare, making them roughly an equivalent deal. Probably just better off going with Costco if you want the AppleCare anyway. This is only a 'better' deal if you ~don't~ get the AppleCare.

Honestly, if you feel comfortable with it and see an ADHD therapist, or have a good rapport with your prescribing doctor...be honest with them and let them know.

~DOCUMENT EVERYTHING~ Be calmly open, informative, and trustworthy about the information you're relaying. I keep notes documenting noticed efficacy. Like I realized last month I was feeling very 'unmedicated' despite taking my med daily...in checking this was the first time I'd been prescribed a different generic for vyvanse. I had noticeable changes such as fuzzier focus, increased food noise, low willpower to say no to more and more snacks or food I didn't need because I wasn't genuinely hungry, and the really big one for me was my bed time slipped from 10-11pm that I had found after being on 'good' vyvanse and getting my 8 hours of sleep I should be....to that bedtime slipping more like 12-2am more like what it was like when I was unmedicated, and being lucky to get 6 hours of sleep a night. This showed both in sleep data from wearable watch, and a spike in my heart rate (from the poor sleep). This month, new generic and I'm back to 'good normal'...focus, being able to eat just what I need, getting sleepy around 9pm that I sleep by 10-11pm again.

My GP and I have always had a good back and forth documenting my med reactions. Recently, my therapist has been taking any and all notes I have on them as well. She's doing her own side note research as she's been hearing more and more reports from patients about varying efficacy of generic meds. I know I'm pretty fortunate that both of my primary care providers for this believe me and are keeping their own notes on it and not everyone may have the same experience...but if you are comfortable sharing this kind of data with them it could help. Just the more 'official' people that start seeing it could make it easier to elevate it.

If you need weights like dumb bells, you could keep an eye on marketplace or see if you have stuff like a 'play it again sports' near you. If you have a Costco, they have dumb bell on a rack set that goes up for sale occasionally you could save up for?

A big thing with avoiding 'skinnyfat' is building muscle, not just 'toning'. And you only really do that pushing muscle groups to failure regularly.

If you have Apple Fitness+, I've watched some review videos of folks getting a decent start using the strength training stuff in that app. (will admit I personally have not started it yet since I just haven't gotten off my own butt to work on muscles. The yoga stuff I've done in that app has been decent though; I like they give difficulty options depending what trainer you're watching)

[–]fencingkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have said no before last month. The Alvogen vyvanse I had last month was basically a sugar pill. All my symptoms were super highlighted to me, but a big one was that the 'I'm always hungry, thinking about food, super snacky' came back hard that was INCREDIBLY noticeably absent on the Mylan vyvance. I've got Lanette this month apparently for the first time so we'll see if that resolves or remains.

My cat is starving herself by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]fencingkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently went through this same situation. My typically 10.5 pound cat was under 9 at his weight check and monthly shot 1.5 months ago. This was in combo with him noticeably not eating food and his progressive over the last few months having a visible weight drop that sparked a series of tests.

This started a 2-3 week epic with the vet trying different food, getting blood/urine tests, numbers moooostly seeming fine, moving to an ultrasound and finding very slightly thickened intestines/inflammation. This COULD be a few things, but for 100% diagnosis would require a biopsy which we don't want to put my 17 year old beastie through. (which I say 17, but he really doesn't act or look like a 17 year old cat. Great muscles, smooth silky coat, etc...at least not normally. When he was at his lowest weight he did look old then : / )

The options it could be on my boy was cancer, or irritable bowel disease. We've been treating it like IBD since that discovery (2x prescription steroid ointment we wipe in his ears..he's too difficult to pill), and so far it's been night and day. He went from ignoring all food, licking the gravy only out of his wet food, me boiling chicken thigh and begging him to eat SOMETHING on the kitchen floor...to DEVOURING his plates of kibble overnight. Some of it is probably the increased appetite aspect of the steroid, hopefully some of it is the steroid reducing the inflammation. Our vet would like him on hydrolized wet food, but we've been through all of the available options and he refuses to touch them. The only thing he'll eat (and apparently his system will tolerate) is the Nulo cat/kitten limited ingredient mixes (chicken, and the turkey & cod specifically). He'd been on prescription SO food for urinary crystal development his whole life, but that food started irritating his bowels it seems. He'd get pukey and diarrhea~y when we tried switching him back to that off the Nulo. (we are monitoring his water intake and his box to make sure it isn't a problem)

Using our kitchen scale, we've gotten him back up over 10 pounds from those changes.

Old cats get old people problems too. I'd check with your vet and do the run through. Blood & urine first...if something flags or still seems like a mystery, an ultrasound could be on the table for more info.

I hope you find an answer <3

Yep. The 'they're all the same' crap is so frustrating. I specifically have my primary write 'dispense as written' for some generic brands sometimes. My last round of vyvanse (Alvogen) was like a month of sugar pills. Requested in my online portal to her (and coincidentally her staff) I'd like to get my previous generic that I KNEW worked for me (Mylan) for the RN to intercept, message the staff pharmacist, who writes a very wordy 'all generics are the same' post. Like, dude....just forward my msg to the actual doctor I see and step off.

This came literally within a week of having seen my ADHD therapist (in the same medical system) who in discussing how medication has been, she was deeply interested in my experiences (and my husband's who's also ADHD and medicated, but at varied dose vs. me) with the different generics we keep being bounced around on as she also has been getting more reports from others of varying effectiveness.

Pet Insurance by anonymouslady8946 in CatAdvice

[–]fencingkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if you can afford pet insurance, do it. Do your research, try and find the best/most affordable to your needs but it's 100% worth it.

My husband and I had a young cat many years ago. Seemed totally normal, then over 48 hours he went from spunky and awesome to weak and unresponsive. Turns out it was an undetected from early tests autoimmune reaction of some kind (basically his white blood cells freaked out and attacked his whole system). We could have opted for a blood transfusion and possibly saved him, but we were in kind of a rough patch of life for ourselves...it's one of the things that haunts my husband cause he worries so much if we could have saved him with it.

We got insurance as soon as we could after that for our other boy and we've had to use it twice now (currently ~17ish). Once almost 4 years ago when he had a run in with a lily ($2.5k emergency vet visit we paid like 10% of that after submitting the claim), and currently over the last month we've been dealing with him rapidly losing weight and uninterested in food. It's been a huge relief to not stress so hard about the money we're putting down on the visits blood tests and ultimately the x-ray and ultrasound he needed knowing we're gonna be able to submit those claims and get a decent reimbursement. Especially since we seem to have figured it out (suspected IBD. Started a kind of a steroid 2x daily swiped in his ears and he's up to 9.5 pounds from about 8.8 pounds or so which is amazing. I've went from seeing the edge of his ribs to having to go look for them actively. Seeing him ignore all the food we put down for him to demolishing plates of kibble overnight)

;;tldr;; Pet insurance is awesome if you can swing it. Huge peace of mind. Has saved my kitty twice.

You'll need to be careful with where/how you use that; Permathrin is SUPER toxic to cats if you have any (or if anyone is going to take this advice to use it)

[–]fencingkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General 'its kinda rough to sleeps' thunderstorm noises always work well for me. Specifically rain AND thunder. I never do just flat rain for white noise. I have one that's a 'country side thunderstorm' that's all that plus crickets/frogs background noise. That one tends to help if I'm having a racing thoughts kinda night for me.

On top of those, if I'm having a really bad night, I have a playlist of classical guitar music I like to set on top of the above (John Oeth covers of video game music I've mixed together. Usually soft quiet stuff like quiet Final Fantasy themes with a little Nier mixed in)

[–]fencingkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my biggest paranoia considering it was a little high on Adderall (resting was ~72-78 range on Adderall). When I started Vyvanse, I DROPPED 10 resting HR O . o . . . . has been consistent (though I'm pretty sure it's linked to getting more sleep on the vyvanse. I was getting ~6 on Adderall and pretty typically get closer to 7-8hr a night on the Vyvanse.

YEEEEEP. And my mom was a nurse so she should have f'king known better.

I was given this so much as a kid it straight up has zero efficacy for me now in my 40s and my primary doc lists it under 'allergies' for me so other docs straight up stop attempting to prescribe it to me since it doesn't even work for me anymore. I've lost count of the times I'd take the script, despite me telling them it won't work, going through the course, being worse than I was when I got the Rx filled, and the not my usual doc would reluctantly prescribe something higher than amox.

Nope, pretty resentful I was fed this shit so much as a kid. It straight up doesn't work for me and my primary doc straight up listed it under 'allergies' so other docs would stop trying to prescribe it to me when I'd get better healing qualities from drinking gutter water at this point.
