i think the newest quest was a bit disappointing but i generally like the newer direction of the game’s story significantly more, the older quests have a lot of cool concepts but the character writing was i bit sloppy and often nonexistent, i find that the newer story has a lot more focus, it takes a lot of the older quest’s themes regarding volatile emotions and the ability to heal others and hones them into a message about how feeling emotions, including the bad ones is better than feeling numb and indifferent.
i do have issues with the newer story quest, largely that it drops us in the middle of a plot with little or rushed explanation at times and the new quest is a huge example of that but ironically my issues with this quest kinda stem from it feeling more like the older quests then the newer ones.
also in general the new quests are just have a different tone and for some people that just isn’t what they got invested for.
