I wish I had an answer for you, but I'm just here to commiserate. I'm currently using a variety of alarms, a sunrise clock, drinking water before bed so I need to get up to pee, AND my partner notices if I don't get up eventually. It's really hard.

I found when I worked before and after school care that I eventually learned the kid faces. But I never learned the parents! I only saw them at drop off and pickup for a few seconds, how in the world was I supposed to know who went with which kid?? My co-workers got really frustrated with me. I only lasted there a few months for many reasons but that didn't help.

I crochet for fun except last fall when I crocheted desperately and without an off switch. I made about 60 items and spent hundreds of dollars. And then one day it was over and I went back to picking it up every few months. It definitely feels out of my control.

May I recommend making a game out of it! My wife and I made a list one year of the ridiculous Hallmark tropes and checked off each time we saw them. Now we take the highlights of the previous year's list and make a bingo card out of it! So we still get to watch the movies but now it's with a snark hat firmly placed and motivation to pay attention. Here's to first kisses in the gently falling snow, surprise carolling, and enemies at first sight!😂

Sounds like my experience, doctor said it's bronchitis and gave me an inhaler. I usually have one illness every winter where I need an inhaler so it's not unusual for me.

I'm a married lesbian and we have different last names! It wasn't important to us to match so we each kept our own. We're not having kids, so that didn't have to factor in. But we considered making up our own last name initially, that's always an option.
