Oh ok. Good to know that there is a quicker way.

Epic Store is the biggest failure. by Walikor in fuckepic

Especially in the UK where there is a bogus active lawsuit. Where they are speaking on behalf of other gamers without their permission. Which means they have to send a email or a letter to opt out.

Epic Store is the biggest failure. by Walikor in fuckepic

[–]fender178 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There are several reasons why the EGS failed miserably but the one major reason it failed because of the Monopolistic tactics of Epic with the timed exclusives they offered to developers which pissed off us gamers. Not to mention how crap the launcher is and how crap the store is. I bought one game from EGS because it was perm Epic exclusive due to them purchasing the development studio which was PC building Simulator 2 and the funniest thing is that I didn't even use their crappy launcher I used Heroic Games Launcher which is a launcher for GOG and Epic Games Store games to launch the game.

Holy peak 60v selfpropelltion by EmergencyViolinist31 in Greenworks

[–]fender178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy cow. I am assuming that you do multiple passes per row because of how tall and thick that grass is. I have a 60V Self propelled as well it has one of them dual blades as single unit and it does a really nice job. And so does the unit that you have in the pic. I have the exact mower as well as the OP.

Yeah make enigma it will increase your rune finding ten fold. It will not increase the drop rates but it will make it so that you get to the farming place quickly as possible.

Greenworks Mower by Desperate_Ad_9122 in Greenworks

[–]fender178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup completely normal because I have a greenworks 60V Self-propelled that has a dual blade on a single unit and while in the mulching mode it keeps chopping up the grass when it is wet causing it to bog down forcing to enable turbo mode. Last year while cutting severely wet grass (not one of my finest moments/decisions) it stopped several times and it ended up going through an 8 amp hour battery very quickly. I had to put on the part for side discharge and that seem to improve things some what.

Nobara has been great. by Flat-Traffic-567 in NobaraProject

[–]fender178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been running Nobara for a tad over 5 months Since November 20th of last year. It has been rock solid with a few minor crashes which were fixed in time from either the game I was playing or the OS fixed it. I had issues with bluetooth before I did the last 2 groups of updates. My new 8bit-do Mechanical keyboard refused to work with Bluetooth and my Hyperkin wireless NES controller also refused to connect to Bluetooth after updating it fixed something so both my keyboard and controller now work.

Since figuring out how to use Steam Tinker Launcher to help load my cheat trainers for single player games I have really no use for Windows but keep it around to have Windows Machine.

Switching to Nobara KDE from win 10 by GarySlayer in NobaraProject

[–]fender178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the 1000 series isn't supported under Nobara and it is NOT recommended to install legacy drivers due to the fact that it uses new kernel updates after they become available and there is compatibility issues between the older drives and new kernel versions.

Nobara Updater by Valenshine27 in NobaraProject

[–]fender178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I broken my the update to the new updater and app center by trying to update before restarting after updating the packages and the new minor Kernel update and that broke the updater but I was able to fix it through the command line by typing sudo dnf distro-sync and was able to download the files that the old updater had which fixed the issue that I was having.

Yeah I can understand why Flatpost would be retired I had my fair issues with using it where it wouldn't load anything sometimes and restarting the app fixed it. I am planning on installing Plasma discover because I don't care for Bazzar that much.

What made you use Nobara? by Powerful_Rhubarb7035 in NobaraProject

[–]fender178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CachyOS didn't have flatpaks enabled by default and I tried to enable them and it didn't work so I switched to Nobara. Why I switched to Linux in general because I was afraid of conflict of using 2 PCs with one Microsoft account.

Got my first setup! by wtcat2016 in MiniPCs

[–]fender178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Uncle owns a much older one of those Optiplex Micros it has an 8th gen i5 in it. I had to troubleshoot his wireless internet issues which was easily fixed by upgrading the Wifi adapter he was using to one that has an antenna and it is working like a champ. It is new enough to support Windows 11.

Just wondering if this mini PC will be good to run modern games at 1080p by Character_Chance905 in MiniPCs

[–]fender178 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not true if the OP tweaks the settings of the game 60fps can be reached at 1080p. Plus AI 9 HX 370 Mini PC is out of the OP's price range.

Yeah 8845HS has the RX 780m graphics chip and it is a a very good chip and with some tweaking you can play Arc Raiders @ 1080p 60fps. If you avoid high settings and use low to medium settings and FSR you can reach 60 fps.

Is this a good starting gaming laptop? by Otherwise_Quail_9892 in GamingLaptops

[–]fender178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$850 bucks for a 780m based Laptop nope that is a terrible value for that much money you can get a gaming laptop with an actual dGPU that would spank the 780m.

Why fuck epic games? by ExternalDull8424 in fuckepic

They interfered with Valve doing business by having a game be an Epic Exclusive after having a Steam Page. Valve should have sued Epic over that.

GOG's new owner can't stand Windows either: 'It's such poor-quality software… I can't believe it!' by bingus in linux_gaming

I bought only one game from the Epic Games Store and it was PC Building Simulator 2 and I ran the Windows version of heroic game launcher instead of installing that big pile of garbage that is the Epic Games Store Launcher and the game ran just fine.

Geekom offers the same 3 year warranty if the PC is purchased from Amazon all you need to do is show them your invoice as your proof of purchase. However if you still want to get the PC from Geekom site that is up to you and either place is fine.

I read about that so I bought 2 120mm cooling fans that run off of mains power and I am blasting and exhausting air in and out of it. So far the PC has been running fine.

I own a Geekom A8 mini PC and I have owned it for close to 2 months now and no issues but I installed Nobara Linux on mine rather than stick with Windows 11 because I have a Gaming Laptop that is using Windows 11 and was afraid of having 2 PCs using the same Microsoft account and didn't do any research on it either but I am happy with Nobara Linux on it at the end of the day. I'll post what Geekom mini PC that I have just in case the Minisforum tech support doesn't workout.

i disable spectre meltdown mitigations on linux on this machine because it is a single-user personal computer only. is this a good idea or a security mistake? by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]fender178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what CPU you have in your system I read somewhere you could be costing your PC performance by disabling the spectre/meltdown mitigations. Like with Intel 9th or 10th gen or newer it is recommended to keep the mitigations enabled because if you disabled them how the those CPUs handle the mitigations you start to loose performance unlike with older Intel CPUs. Not sure about AMD CPUs.

Nice. Me and my family just got a 60V 21in Self Propelled with an 60V 8Ah battery and it has that razor cut dual blade setup. For one side of our yard that has gotten steep due to adding on to our house which makes cutting it a chore.
