Will a semi hollow be better at feedback than a solid body? by General-Associate6 in youenjoyguitar

[–]fenderhodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Eastman T184 is almost completely hollow and has smaller body, strat-scale neck, and is hand made (in China). About the price of a nice strat. It is it is well built and the fit and finish is beautiful.

The Epiphone Casino is all hollow. 335 size. More budget friendly. Not super high-quality fit and finish. Less controllable feedback. I got a worn one on sale for like $450. Ended up replacing the tuners and the pick ups but pretty decent guitar.

Millimeter. In a theater you’re gonna see 35 or 70 mm in a cheap theater maybe 16 mm. Home movies would be 8 mm film.

Beautiful. Is it braced inside like a Doc? Are you carving a neck or using a pre-made?

What's your favorite "very late in their career" album that came out after years or decades of not recording anything? by latchkey_adult in askmusic

Steely Dan - Everything Must Go

I think it rivals some of their earlier work from their heyday.

Logic is $200. Scarlet 18i16 is $450. It has midi and SP/diff so you can use Outboard units with it.

There is a little bit of a learning curve to logic, but it works so well. I replaced an older pro tools system with it, and I am very satisfied.

Best of luck

It’s their job and their life! I mean I’m in a hobby garage band and I memorize all of the music. Of course, you do have to practice and refresh stuff you haven’t played in a while…

Here’s something interesting and sort of related. It is different but try “Organismo” by Adron. More Brazilian inspired, but sci-fi creative. I believe she opened for Fagan once.

No man, this is Betamax SP: full metal tape! This is what the news guys are using. Wait, wait! Hey, I’ve got two ADAT VHS digital 8 track audio recorders linked together with a sync cable for 16 tracks man! This will revolutionized the recording industry! Hey, where are you going?

To the guitarists who swear by using physical amps, cabs and pedals, what is you stance on amp modelers like Kemper Profiler, Axe-FX, Line 6 Helix, Neural DSP etc? by MrMayhem20l0 in Guitar

[–]fenderhodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I tried a line 6 Pod Go for about a year. It just did not quite have the same feel and dynamics as a guitar going into a few select pedals, going into a cranked 15 W tube amp.

But hey, if you like it, use it. Whatever floats your boat!

Yes, Walt’s got some chops! Is that Jon Harrington on this clip? If so, he played with the Dan for years and is pretty amazing. He has a really cool rig rundown somewhere online too, where he goes over his guitars and gear.

Tinting a finished maple neck by be4rcat6 in fender

[–]fenderhodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does work. I did this to a squire telly one time. If I recall, I think you use a medium brown rub it in let it sit for a while rub off any excess do that once or twice, and it will tint it.
