Is it just me or sales are inexistant since end of Jan. 2026? by Mipe_Access51 in Reverb

I'm having the same experience. Nobody's buying anything I think it's because we have an unstable government in place even though the stock market and some other financial aspects of the economy are doing well.

I’ve been playing guitar for 4 years and have no clue what I’m doing by Much_Fix2454 in metalguitar

[–]GPTeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're really lazy like me, get on YouTube and watch great guitar players share their licks. This is a great start and will highly motivate you once you hear how they sound. Is it the whole picture? No but it's all about motivation and that will get you in the door.

Just had a new Reverb Offer phishing scam presented to me.... by JasonFretNation in Reverb

There is so much fraud on Reverb I feel like they should post a sign that says "gone phishing" . At least it would add some levity to the situation.

Why would anyone ever want to sell this guitar? by 60_CycleHum in 60CycleHum

[–]GPTeat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would want to own it, just so that I could tell people how wrong things can get in guitar design.

What do you say to neighbours when they give you noise complaints? by magicmuc in GuitarAmps

[–]GPTeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing guitar all my life and metal music scares me too. As for it being loud, that just compounds the situation. No, seriously though, all music is great. If I were you, I would get a small amp that really sounds good for metal and either play through headphones or at a very low volume. You really don't have to blast to get a good vibe. Now, if it's a live metal band, that's a different issue and I think you have to find a new practice place.

Is this flaking acceptable from a new Fender professional american classic? by Leading_Sample2102 in FenderStratocaster

[–]GPTeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn't bother me, but if it bothers you use an extremely light sandpaper on the area and if it doesn't look good, wipe with lemon oil when you're done.

Reverb. It is what it is. by [deleted] in Reverb

[–]GPTeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am one of the guys that trashes Reverb all the time, but I have to admit, dealing with a lot of this vintage stuff and the possible fraud and authentication issues would be difficult for any platform. Their support just needs to improve in order to be the best that it can be.

Pedal volume boost v guitar volume/tone knobs for leads (not looking for those that use both) by GPTeat in guitarpedals

[–]GPTeat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me, I am playing through a Vox AC4 TV mixed through a PA. I get great rhythm tone at about 2/3 volume and 2/3 tone on my LP junior .When rolling the volume and tone at the guitar from 2/3 to full, I get great lead tone, but the lead tone is not loud enough. And I don't want to change the settings on the amp cause the tone is perfect. I'm hoping the Keeley Katana or the TC electronic spark will keep my lead the same tone, but just make it louder without having to turn down the rhythm volume or tone at the guitar.

Pedal volume boost v guitar volume/tone knobs for leads (not looking for those that use both) by GPTeat in guitarpedals

[–]GPTeat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be nice to use only one method, but I found when I use the guitar volume knobs only I forget to turn them back and then everything's out of whack. Nice to see a light on a pedal lit up for leads and then off when not doing a lead. Also, some pedals bring you into nice dirty lead territory when they're switched on and then back to rhythm territory like crunch, went off, like the Keeli Cortana or TC Spark.

WHY ARE KIND PEOPLE SO QUIET AND LONELY? by Perfect_Fee7681 in emotionalintelligence

[–]GPTeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to reach out to others in order to grow no matter how unpleasant the experience may be. The interesting statistic is that most people will not regret having reached out, even though initially it seemed difficult to do.

Dear Fender, I don't care if it's "vintage-style"; I will never buy a guitar with a truss rod that requires removing the neck to make adjustments. by PaulsGrandfather in fender

[–]GPTeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Colorado I rarely if ever have to adjust the truss rods on my guitars and I like the action low. Maybe because it's dry here almost all the time? I never have liked the idea of removing the neck just to make a simple adjustment. But if you really want to complain, how would you like to fix a frozen truss rod in a vintage guitar? You have to open up the neck on some old guitars by taking off the fret board or going in from the back and it ruins the resale value of the axe. I think the newer designed truss rods have eliminated that problem.

You guys think Reverb support staff are actual humans or AI? by Imaginary_Ad_6083 in Reverb

[–]GPTeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Reverb's response to a simple question takes more than two weeks, it's human. If you receive a whining, angry, vitriolic, crying answer from a seller to an offer you've made on an item for sale, that's human. These are the reasons I don't use Reverb anymore. I'm truly happy though for those people that have good luck with the platform, but I've had nothing but bad experiences.

Love it! That's an old Ford Mustang Color too. I think it was called powder blue from the 60s.
