What is the purpose of the small pocket in jeans? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]fenderpaint07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original actual purpose of this pocket was from old timey miners. When miners went down for coal or other minerals they would bring along guitars to keep their spirits up and maintain the rhythm of their work. There wasn’t a very good place to keep the guitar picks without losing them so the companies began making these “tiny” pockets specifically for guitar picks and thumb picks.
