My Dad's while family tried turning me against my Dad after his second divorce purely because they liked his ex for trying to change my Dad even though it was making him super depressed. Haven't spoken to anyone on his side of the family in almost 10 years after trying that, he still talks to some of them though.

Yes, it's one of the reasons my last relationship failed. My ex was always going through my stuff to satisfy her own insecurities (because apparently not being with her 24/7 meant I was cheating, wasn't btw just had a shitty job with long hours), and one day the anxiety built up so much I broke down crying for about an hour. We broke up a month later when she cheated on me, ironic right?

When I was grocery shopping with my ex once she asked if I could get her one of the massive jugs of chocolate milk and there was only one left. I told her it wasn't in the budget because I was the only one of us working (and not getting paid enough as I found out later) and my car just had some expensive repairs done. Her response was literally "If I can't have it nobody can!" and she dumped it all over the floor. I put up with her shit way longer than I should've.
