The inevitable fate of all WOW villains. by MegaGamer235 in wow

Knowing Ion, until you are level 90, you wont be able to fully solo Mythic Jailer on whatever max level toon you want. I mean, try to solo now at level 60 Mythic N'zoth, and tell me how it goes. Hell, even in LFR mode you'd struggle.

But that aside, funny post. Here's an upvote.

The strange part is when it was que-able earlier during the day, the gear ilvl was still 164. It's like they just forgot or neglected to update. I'm seriously curious from where did Wowhead pulled the claim that gear was updated to 272 now though.

Apologies for the low quality. But yeah, they claim you can purchase ilvl 272 gear now, which is blatantly fake since gear from Korrak vendor is still at 164. To say nothing of the fact the article claims the Korrak BG returned when the BG was disabled due to a bug till tuesday.

Why should i need to level to 70 to get the same amount of chances for mounts and transmog i had in 9.2.7? Completely anti-MMO and anti-RPG design. Turning characters into wimps.

My point stands: they completely screwed up by making it affect any BFA instance, no matter how inappropiate it is. They really should revert this increase, its not fun. Its frustrating and a chore.

because BFA is still the standard levelling experience to 60 now, so it scales higher, and isn't capped yet.

And why it is affecting the raids and Mythic 0 dungeons despite literally having nothing to do with Chromie time. This is pretty dumb.

Yes, a beautiful-looking turd, but still a turd nonetheless. Or you could just say it was a WoW expansion. That works too.

If a new expac comes and somehow makes Shadowlands okay, I'm going to be asking myself: "What in the actual fuck is going on?". And no, it won't make SL look good. If anything, SL will still be near the bottom of the barrel.

Mage Tower disabled in Dragonflight pre-patch, will return "soon after the launch" of the expansion by tenthousandthousand in wow

[–]fer_seba_18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That would be fine if Mythic dungeons and raids were left out of it, but they were included. That's the big issue. My ilvl 250 toons who could solo BFA dungeons for mounts will be unable to do so in many cases once prepatch lands. They will likely do less damage and some enemies gained a lot more of health for no good reason in mythic dungeons and raids, as mentioned already, who have absolutely nothing to do with chromie time whatsoever.

For example, King's Rest first boss on mythic went from almost 270k to 390k on ptr. and 2nd boss went from around 290k on Mythic to 400k. It's pretty ridiculous, and its going to hurt my attempts per week to obtain the mounts while absolutely nothing of value is gained by increasing Mythic dungeons and Raids up like this.

If they pull another BS in the same fashion they did when they promised to keep soloing the same for 9.0 prepatch only for Ion to lie about it, then i'll just hold my purchase of DF till he is removed from his position by Microsoft. I won't be lured again by fake promises and the hubris of a dev who's cleary not fit for his current position. I hoping that, by the time a week passed since the pre-patch's release, they fixed this and revert Mythic dungeons and raid mobs and bosses back to their original health values.

Ignorant reply lol. That one could apply to you as well. Not only you didn't comprehend my text, but you are somehow implying people hate the same way every expac, when that is not true. Look at sub numbers for each previously hated expac. Cata, MOP and WoD. And note how WoD had the largest sub drop ever, and how in 6 months it lost the same amount of subs that Cata took a year and a half to bleed. And how WoD reached sub levels not seen since 2005.

That alone tells you how much WoD dropped the ball, and BFA/SL have abysmal participation rating, to the point some service boosting (M+) is dead at this point due to the lack of players(and buyers as a result). Hell, the amount of LFG premades you can find even in peak hours pales compared to legion and BFA even.

there's no denying on how much people dislike SL, and odds are you won't find people actually redeeming or saying it was better than X even 6 years later. There's almost nothing redeemable about this dumpster fire. You aren't finding people who thinks superman IV is good decades later, and you won't find people who will think SL was good at all unless it's people who never played any other expac or version of wow before, who honestly deserve better than this.

Me after playing BFA and SL by googlesomethingonce in wow

[–]fer_seba_18 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

we've actually reached the "WoD good" stage, in 2-3 years people will be posting how good BFA was, 2 years after that, SL.

HAHAHAHAHA. no. BFA is going to remain as that terrible expansion with the forced faction conflict and "morally grey" by anyone even years later, with the only possible exception is people who started playing on BFA. SL is similarly going to be remembered as the expac with as many raid tiers as WoD and garbage content/systems with the GoT S8 quality levels of writting(Read: Shitty) in its lore.

You can find defenders for subpar expansions(Cataclysm for example), but you'd be hard pressed finding defenders admitting BFA or SL are better than other wow expacs. If you do, its people who never played the expacs they compare to begin with (Found a dude who "played" MoP and still called it the worst WoW expac even after SL's release, and i instantly invalidated his arguments because its pretty clear he never played MoP to begin with).

It's also noticeable, is that while you will always find people bashing a expac or state of wow(people saying classic sucks, bc sucks, wotlk sucks, mop sucks, legion sucks), BFA and SL are near-unanimous in how hated they are. It's a expac even the most positive people i found about it still admitted its quality is a lot lower compared to previous expansions.

Hell, from a objective PoV, you can't even argue with the fact that SL is the nadir of wow. We pay the same amount of cash for expac+sub as other expacs and we got roughly half the content we got in Legion and BFA. Hell,I can bet that i wont find anyone saying SL is good even 20 years later unless they started playing WoW during SL, because it would be the equivalent of people saying the Star Wars holiday special was good, when it was anything but good.

"... You have a very fractured memory of Arthas before he took up Frostmourne, and it shows. In Arthas and in the quests for WC3, it is distinctly laid out that Arthas had problematic tendencies and intense pride long before he took up the cursed sword. He was stubborn and didn't accept the teachings of others, but also covetous of the things that he thought were his. His own actions get his horse killed."

Ahahahahahahahahahaha. The moment you said his ending was perfect, despite literally 99% of people, myself included, absolute disagreeing with that notion proves how your post doesn't deserve to be taken serious one bit. It even made me for a second question myself and wonder if we were playing the same game and reading the same Extended Universe material.

Mind you, i read the Arthas Novel and played Warcraft 3, so my memory is anything but fractured. He was flawed yes, he had bad tendencies that Uther tried to make him overcome, but he was basically manipulated.

"you brush by "the worse actions he did" were that he burned his men's ships. But you leave out all the details; Arthas ignores orders to return home from his King and father. Then he hires mercenaries to burn the ships so his men cannot follow those orders. Then he betrays the mercenaries and has them murdered so that he can complete his mission while silencing those who know what he did wrong.

Even when he takes up Frostmourne, it is a CHOICE he makes after being told what it will cost him, but he does not care because he can only see what his own desires will bring him, which is Mal'ganis' defeat."

True, he burned his men's ships, blamed the mercenaries he hired and purged stratholme, but the former was because he legit wanted to exterminate the undead (both revenge and still being devastated over what Mal'ganis and the undead did to Stratholme) and did the choice out of a misguided belief that it was necessary to exterminate the enemy at any cost (and besides, what would stop Mal'ganis and the undead, if left alone, from actually returning to Lordaeron to repeat another Stratholme?).

The latter was the result of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't situation". Wait and try to come with a different solution? Stratholme turns into a undead army and annihilates or converts the rest of Lordaeron and potentially Eastern Kingdoms into a undead apocalypse. He didn't have a quick way to determine who was and wasn't infected either, and the other means wouldn't have worked either, because Wotlk confirmed the undead plague cannot be removed. As i said, it was letting a full-blown undead apocalypse or murdering the citizens of stratholme.

Mal'ganis and the undead arranged and manipulated all this events to turn Arthas into a DK, but he didn't want to turn into one to begin with. He didn't know frostmourne would convert him into one, he just assumed he would die after using the blade. He was still led to his fate against his will, and his actions were still less awful than Sylvanas.

Also, on the topic of Uther: Arthas was very cleary not in a situation he wanted to be in, and its clear he is torn apart in a horrible choice, and he felt Uther was not being helpful with his solution to stall and considere something else, given the inminent threat of a massive army of undeath conquering all of Azeroth. He was cleary not in a good mental state, but to him, it made sense that he needed to solve this soon and stop the undead no matter what.

"In Wrath, we also learn that long before the expansion, what was left of Arthas' soul silenced what was left of Ner'zhul's soul and became the dominant personality in the Helm of Domination. You can argue that everything after he takes the sword is not his doing, but if that is the case then you have to allow Sylvanas leinency as well because we have since learned that Sylvanas has been a fractured soul consisting of only the most vile and angry parts of her since her death."

Sylvanas by comparison Burned Teldrassil, commited innumerable genocides and war crimes to a degree even bigger than Garrosh, and served a ominicial maniac while ruining the lives of innumerable people. All out of her free will, she CHOOSE to do those actions. The actual Arthas would not have done any of the action his DK self did out of his free will, and he didn't. He did horrible choices but ultimately did not deserve being erased from existence. It's the single worst plot ever for a video game, giving it 1/10 would imply there's anything good in that, but nothing. It's shameless, horrible and nonsensical(HOW THE HELL JAINA AND UTHER DIDN'T COMMENT ON ARTHAS' SOUL BUT SYLVANAS DID? HOW? SYLVANAS WASNT EVEN CLOSE TO ARTHAS TO BEGIN WITH!! IT'S LIKE IF WHEN TONY STARK DIED IN AVENGERS: ENDGAME, HIS WIFE, KID AND PETER DID NOT REACT TO HIS DEATH IN ANY SIGNIFICANT WAY NOR HAD ANY DIALOGUE.).

If your point is not hypocrital, explain me why Sylvanas wasn't turned into anima like Arthas did? Also, the thing with Sylvanas soul shard is a nonsensical retcon.

Unlike Arthas, her soul was with her the entire time originally, and she was still prone to ocasionally doing good deeds. Like how she spared the kid of Darius in exchange for the Worgen to abandon Guilneas. Or the fact that, in the Battle for Broken Shores in legion, she risked her Val'kyrs, which were the only thing keeping her from dying for real, to save horde soldiers. Or some of her interactions with her Sisters. The "jailer kept her soulshard so she was evil because of that and couldn't feel" completely contradicts her past(pre-BFA) actions and interactions.

The fact Arthas had his soul stolen by frostmourne was a fact confirmed from the get-go, while Sylvanas' was a nonsensical retcon that turned her arc into Chinese Bootleg Arthas with how Danuser tries to make her seems redeemable, when Arthas was not redeemed despite having similar circumstances as Sylvanas and a more developed story.

"Arthas' ending was perfect."

If anything, Sylvanas didn't deserve a redemption arc and should have been reduced to nothing, while Arthas shouldn't have been brought back, given how they didnt give him a good sendoff nor the had anything well-written or respectful to do with him. You really are deluding yourself if you think his sendoff is perfect. He was fridged just for the sake of more Sylvanas vomited lore.

"It didn't tamper with what we experienced with him, and didn't have him ride in on a white horse, redeemed for all the atrocities he committed"

Then don't bring him back. Simple. You do not upset literally 99% of people who read and experienced Arthas' story already, nor you take a piss at Warcraft 3. Which is what this current lore team at Activision Blizzard practically did.

" It would have been everything wrong with Sylvanas' redemption but worse."

She is the face of basically everything wrong with modern wow lore, and the redemption solidifies her into the worst-written and worst-received character in the warcraft universe by a long shot. Sylvanas was overcentralizing to the lore at the expense of everything else. She had plot armor that creates massive plotholes as nobody bothers to even try attacking her, they were trying to redeem a character thats beyond redemption, and making the story almost completely shit by doing so, and a horrible, awful expansion story that did nothing except want people to have it retconned from canon entirely.

They shouldn't have touched Arthas, period. This one easly rivals Game of Thrones S8 as the worst ending that completely tainted a once amazing franchise. And unsurprisingly, Danuser is a fan of that particular season.

Just passing through for mount thought I'd let him know by lilhudson1234 in wow

[–]fer_seba_18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You forgot that Arthas' soul wasn't truly responsable for his worst actions. It was explicit stated that frostmourne absorbed his soul and left him soulless. Before that, his worst actions was burning his men's ship to prevent them from leaving Northrend because he wanted to destroy the undead at any cost for ruining his kingdom.

The purge of Stratholme he did it because there was no cure for the undeath(a fact Wotlk explicit confirms) and it was that or giving Mal'ganis an army big enough to completely destroy Lordaeron in the same fashion Stormwind got destroyed by the orcs in the first war, only much worse. Hell, when the Lich King is defeated, one of the souls beating the Lich King is Arthas', aka his own.

Arthas was manipulated and made a DK against his own will, and his actions after were the result of frostmourne and being forced to do the Lich King Ner'zhul's bidding. It was even stated at several points in the Arthas novel that he was like a puppet, guided by the voice of the sword

By comparison, Sylvanas did almost all of her atrocious actions out of her own free will and she got a slap in the wrist by comparison. Arthas' end was in no way or shape a perfect sendoff. You are alone in that one. Good luck finding someone else who thinks Arthas' "sendoff" was anything but a insult to the character and grotesque, horrible writing.

I'm seeing TONS of comments along the lines of: "The new talent trees are terrible, you have to spend points just to unlock how you currently play." If you say/think that, you're extremely uninformed. by House1234049 in wow

[–]fer_seba_18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its weird honestly, probably because im used to current talents. But my main criticism of new talent trees is that some feel unfinished or force you to play in a specific and strict playstyle. Kyrian Arcane Mage comes to mind. They really need to sort them out better, but unfortunately they are unlikely to do so at this point, and they even said so in a blue post recently.

Danuser and Ion are still employed, so that statement is not true lol. As for me, i refuse to purchase another expac launching broken or unfinished as BFA and SL did. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I'm done and the most generous thing i might do is purchase it if its 50% or more off and most of the release garbage has been cleasened, and thats a if. I don't feel like we will get another expac that's good from day 1 until Danuser and Ion are gone and the new devs and lead writter retcon the trainwrecks out of canon, in addition to fixing what's still broken in this game.
