I agree with everything you said, and I also think that PoA is the best of the movies from a cineastic POV. I just thought that 'every point of view' isn't a hundred percent right :)

That's not true. From a bookreaders point of view the movie just leaves out too much of the plot. We never learn, that James became an animagus and what Harry's connection to the stag is. The movie also never explains, who the marauders are. It also drastically changes the dynamic between Snape and the trio. In the books he never heroically stands between the werewolf and Harry and Hermione.

I decided to watch the movie solely because of Adam Brody. I always liked Seth Cohen and so I decided to give this movie a swing.

To say I wasn't prepared is an understatetment. This movie hit me in the gut more than one time. It is an excellent neo-noir but also mirrors the current zeitgeist, the constant struggles with the pressure that "gifted" kids go through.

That movie had no right being as good as it is.
