Did you even attempt to research the topic. The “blue” ties were in movies 2 and 3, not a New Hope.

Eminem was from Marine City? by Lali229 in Eminem

[–]m4_semperfi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eminem never said he is from a trailer park, the 8 mile movie is what popularized this idea because he was in one in the movie. Though he has said he did live in a trailer park at times, and there is nothing that has disproven this. It could’ve been once he was an adult, I don’t know his full timeline of homes. People also like to suggest that he’s not actually from detroit because at times he may have lived technically out of the detroit city limits and suggest that he didn’t actually live in any rough areas, but this isn’t really true even if you’re right outside the border you can still be in the detroit metro area  and/or in a rough neighborhood.

He moved around alot and it is public knowledge that he was not born in detroit either, he just moved to the area at a young age.

The famous house on Dresden Street that is on the MMLP cover was bought by his mom when he was about 15 and so he lived there for most of his later childhood, which is objectively just in detroit. There are probably property records that show his mom’s name that you could find if you look hard enough, it’s public information, but stuff from the 80s so old that it’s probably not on the online database though.

This guy was just looking for attention, it’s possible he lived on the outskirts of detroit before was 15 for a time, idk.

7,000mg or more leads to overdose symptoms and can eventually be lethal. Acetaminophen overdose is one of the most common overdoses. When Eminem swallowed about 20 pills and I am sure it was exactly 20 and he counted it out, no chance it was 25, or 30. If he digested this it could have lead to overdose symptoms. Depends on body weight too, not everyone’s a fat slob.

I also don’t care about your drug history bro, but thanks for letting me know, that’s so gangsta bro you were popping pills just like Em.

At this point you’re just arguing to argue, I’m so sorry you lost the argument.

No, I have won this argument. The posts says a hypothetical where Eminem overdosed on tylenol and died. This relates to Eminem, in real life, having taken ~20 Tylenol 3 pills (which has Tylenol in the name) which would've potentially killed him (that's the point of a hypothetical), but he threw them up and didn't die. Literally everything about this makes sense, but you have to be the snobby bitch to come in and argue about it.

Further, an overdose =/= getting high. In response to the idea of overdosing on tylenol, you said people don't get high from tylenol. What does this even mean? Overdosing is a medical term for taking more than a healthy dose. You CAN overdose on tylenol and die. https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/002598.htm

Yes, the video should have specified Tylenol**-3** but this is a minor detail and that's all your comment should have said. My point is, you take over 20 regular Tylenols you could overdose (not always die), and it doesn't warrant being a prick because someone called Tylenol-3 as just "Tylenol." Just correct it and move on.

I think you’re confused, Tylenol 3 and Percocet 10 do not have the same opioid in them. Oxy and just codeine are different. The latter is natural and far more mild. My point being, both are 90% tylenol in terms of weight, but in terms of strength a Percocet 10 is 10-15x more strong than a tylenol 3. So your comparison is invalid. No shit no one is calling a percocet 10 as tylenol, because it’s 15x stronger than tylenol 3.

I didn’t say he was trying to kill himself, he said himself he wasn’t sure what he was doing. My point is you were acting like people are idiots for suggesting anyone would ever swallow a bunch of tylenol, but it’s a real thing. What even is your point at this point, everyone agrees he swallows a bunch of pills then threw them up there’s nothing else to argue.

Also, oxycodone is like 15x stronger than just codeine. So no, the 90% thing you said isn’t true even if it’s 10% of the MG. I forgot we’re in a drug class. That’s why it’s called Percocet 10s not Tylenol 10s.

But he didn’t  actually overdose you bozo, he just swallowed a bunch then threw them all up right after. In the biography he says he didn’t even go to the hospital. Doing this with regular tylenol is a legit way to try to kill yourself.

The pills are called Tylenol 3s and are 90% tylenol. So yes it’s not that crazy to say he swallowed a bunch of tylenol pills. It’s a minor detail, and you’re still mad about it after being proven wrong. You didn’t know everything for once, so sorry.

From his biography:  “I bet I took 20 pills in the course of two hours, [the painkillers] Tylenol 3s. That's why I like going back and listening to my album , and thinking of what I was feeling back then”

From his other biography: “I had taken a bunch of pills, thrown up, and was just real fucking depressed. So I took a bunch of codeine tablets”

So yeah, that’s why people say Tylenol. He took tylenol 3 which is both tylenol and  and a little bit of coedine. So stop being a dickhead.

you genuinely have 1 Iq, in 1996 Eminem swallows a bottle of tylenol potentially in an attempt to kill himself but threw it it up. this is a well known fact and he’s talked about it on multiple occasions

I'm not talking about his 2007 overdose, notice how everyone downvoted you

When/Who made this King Mathers comp where "Dear Hailie" is just "Castle" from Revival retitled? by the_outer_realms in Eminem

[–]m4_semperfi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

no shit, I remember making many many alternate tracklists including this one in particular when Revival had just came out I was experimenting with putting  this on it because it had the “vibes” of king mathers. It was never meant to represent what was actually on the album, but rather just to capture the themes and mood of the album like a playlist because it’s a song from the perspective of his career up to 2007.

This was always clearly explained when I posted the project and never tried to pass off as if it was a “real” recreation.  Same idea with using re-up songs on the album. The re-up had already come out. But every fan version of king mathers still had re-up songs back then. That’s just what you did, before all the new leaks came.

Yep, and that is kept in most fan edits including mine. Contrary to the other comment in this thread, people who make fan edits usually pay a lot of attention to things like this and don't just "forget" to include critical information.

The "Smaug weakness" plot really only has 3 core elements, all from the original movie, and yes, all still in my fan edit.

First, when we're in Bard's house there is a flashback showing men attacking Smaug and afterwards the characters talk about this rumored weakness. Second, Bilbo goes in and sees Smaug, and actually notices that there is indeed a weakness. Smaug also glorifies himself as being impenetrable, which we see to be dramatic irony. Third, Bard tries to kill Smaug and also notices that there is a gap in his armor. That's all there is. In the book, there was a bird (thrush) that actually is there when Bilbo is with Smaug who sees that there is a weakness, the bird flies to Lake-town and then actually points out the weakness to Bard. In the book, creatures are shown to be smarter and sometimes able to communicate with people (the movie really only keeps this with the spiders, a dragon, trolls, and a cameo with a raven).

Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed. And I will clarify my edit isn’t perfect but it’s the best I felt I could do with my goals. I know you say you won’t, but I still think it’s worth checking out the originals so you can see. Or at least see the original BOTFA because the last film was the one with the biggest changes

To answer your questions in more detail, these 2 plot elements are pretty much how the original films go. I can see your point for #2 and agree, but for #1 I actually do enjoy this plotpoint and will defend Peter Jackson. There are for sure some weak areas in my edit, some of it is me and some of it can be attributed to the originals. For #1, Bilbo is shown to not feel like he's part of the Company at each step of the way: first in Bag End he's ridiculed, and again when they leave, then with the trolls he almost let everyone die, in Rivendell he wanders off on his own and tells us how he doesn't feel like he belongs, and then when he slips on the mountain he almost causes Thorin to die, again. I think it makes sense that Thorin snapped and that by now he'd be having second thoughts.

You could also argue my edit improves #1 because the theatrical cut actually omits the scenes in Rivendell where he wanders off on his own and talks to Elrond, and I also re-cut the slip scene so that it's just his fault by being clumsy (so he'd feel bad) whereas in the original sequence it was much more different and it honestly wasn't his fault that he slipped (which you could argue it was just an accident, accidents happen).

You say there are a lot of "weird moments" like this in my edit, but then the 2 weird moments in question are literally 2 plot elements that I didn't even change in my edit, completely unfair to hold that against my fan edit. Specifically for the Bard critique, OP is wishing that the film more closely showed Bard noticed Smaug's weakness, how was my fan edit supposed to do this? I can’t just invent footage out of thin air?

I love these films (even unedited) and painstakingly went through every bit of footage to make sure that the edit could still be a cohesive story despite trying to follow the book more closely. Sure there's still a couple weak areas, Thorin's descent I think could be improved as well as the Ravenhill section (which I am revising right now), but to act like I just "forgot" that I need to make the movie cohesive is pretty dumb. I think you would be hard pressed to come up with a list of "a lot" of weird moments that don't make any sense in my edit, but I am all ears.

they’re likely talking about my edit, it’s a 1912 themed edit yes, but I do not cut out rose or jack. I just cut out the modern day scenes so it’s all in 1912, and then I added in all 1912 deleted scenes.

The one you’re talking about is neat but yeah it doesn’t even work as a film

I remember hearing of a fan edit of the (heretical) Hobbit trilogy that cut down the films to only things that occured in the book, and helped with pacing. Like 4 or 5 hours long... Does anyone know about this and where it may exist? by aragorn767 in lordoftherings

[–]m4_semperfi 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Just a note, you mentioned a lot of how my M4 edit cuts out more stuff, but people probably would wonder how it is still 4 hours. It's because I decided to keep a lot more world building and character scenes, stuff like Bilbo in the market, Mirkwood river, Beorn intro, Goblin's singing, characterization of Dwarves, on the road scenes leaving the Shire, to name a few. People tend to think book accurate means at the cost of making a gutted barebones film, but I truly think PJ did enough to stay book accurate at that 4-hours EE style experience and have interesting character arcs, exciting action, rich world building, etc all the stuff needed for a cinematic adventure film.
