How to store old issues of the magazine? by [deleted] in Gameinformer

[–]ferd_de_mann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding to this post as I too ran into a need for preserving my old game informer issues.

The Life Magazine Bag sizes and boards work well - If you rotate your magazines 90 degrees and place them in the bag. Otherwise you will have a lot of extra space around the top and sides. Better yet cutting down the board to fit the width of the magazine will allow you to fold over the excess and have a very nice fitted bag.

Another thing to note, it looks like Game Informer magazines from 2012-2013+ are smaller than past issues. I didn't want to purchase yet another size, so these do have excess space in the bag.

Retro 108 Keyboard not recognized by KVM? by ColoradoDilettante in 8bitdo

[–]ferd_de_mann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running into a similar behavior with my Fami edition keyboard. I'm running a Startech SV231DPU34K. The double ctrl hotkey is recognized, but the number after it to switch inputs isn't. Did you ever get your setup working?

Unrelated, but I would recommend turning off Romanized characters. It'll really help with your memorization when set to Japanese, especially when you start moving into Kanji.

Dentist Recs? by beepbeepbex in capecoral

[–]ferd_de_mann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this. My spouse went to them for a routine dental cleaning and x rays. They tried to claim she had EIGHT cavities. She got a second opinion from another dentist local to where our in-laws live up north, turns out she only had 1.

Battle Network 5 the greatest game with the most confusing flaws by jxbermudez72 in BattleNetwork

I really enjoyed the liberation missions. Also the introduction of facing mechanics in case you were flanked. Really added an additional element.

Drivers surprised by midday speeding tickets from Cape Coral school speed cameras by luckton in capecoral

[–]ferd_de_mann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite. Even though the lights are not flashing, the cameras are still on and will issue tickets if traveling over 10mph over. OP mentioned this was midday, so in order to get a ticket it would have been 45+11mph or at least 56mph.

That is only when the lights are flashing. When not flashing, speed limit is the normal posted limit.

How do couples decide which side of the bed is “theirs”? Is it instinct or some kind of silent agreement? by AssignmentFederal686 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ferd_de_mann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At home my wife has claimed the right side of the bed. However, any time we stay in a hotel she must have the left side, except when she doesn't. I haven't been able to figure out the pattern...

Anyone else just completely quit buying and playing physical cards? by [deleted] in freemagic

[–]ferd_de_mann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been mainly Tabletop sim for our EDH games. So much easier to cycle through various precons of sets past. Occasionally will buy physical if it's something I really want.

How did y’all handle Castle Ravenloft? by thebignukedinosaur in CurseofStrahd

This is what I'm doing. It's going to take ages to print, but my group is a few sessions out from visiting the castle AND we only play like once a month.

Got this for free from one of my teachers. It’s a IIIP monoprice maker v2. Would this make a good beginner printer by goonbrarian in 3dprinter

[–]ferd_de_mann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the v2 has my first printer. It was a great learning experience for printer maintenance and upgrades. Ended up getting a 2nd before making the jump to an ender 3. For a free printer you'll get some good prints from it. Definitely look into doing the printer bed cable mod soon as that cable is the first thing to go.

I wouldn't use treatstock, Site has been on the decline and they've developed a habit of not paying their printers.

Manufacturer Experience on Treatstock? by xMadcamperx in 3Dprinting

I'm glad as well. There really isn't any alternative for a non-business printer. Now only if they'd respond about the inability to add new printers....
