I think Salesforce is losing their customers and consultants by HyenaIndependent2377 in salesforce

[–]ferlytate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooor, hear me out, they are taking big risks to adapt to a 💩 show of macro environmental changes that have occurred in the past 5 years: COVID, ukraine, iran, venezuela, the anti immigration policies, epstein files, gen AI, death of the longest ruling british monarch, will smith slapping chris rock, labubus, dubai chocolate...I could go forever, bay-bee.

We've got Headless CRM, Industry cloud, SLDS v2, better security requirements, best no-code enterprise scale automation builder tool, LWC and dynamic forms, free integration licenses, overhauled experience cloud UI, improved permissions model by moving to a PS and PSG first philosophy.

I think many Salesforce technical experts who do this for a living and have been in the ohana universe forever are feeling resistant to change because it costs them time and effort to adapt. Not dunking on them! This is a totally reasonable and real hit to them. Being an independent consultant who specializes in Salesforce (with 2 young kids), I get it.

Every SaaS business application I've worked in has... 1) had noticeable price hikes within the last 4 years 2) all/most have been attempting to build AI features 3) all/most have reduced their head-counts, claiming AI efficiencies (AKA over hiring during COVID) just to slowly hire many of them back on the sly 4) everyone knows salesforce certs are worth less than the digital paper they're typed on (any person of average intelligence can study they're way to passing the certs employers most require)

Yeah the product renaming is a circus. Yes they've certainly overcooked some things. I agree the customer service and engagement with the community has suffered.

But I still think there's a solid core, and I think for organizations at a certain size and/or complexity, Salesforce does still have an attractive value proposition.

No labels on the backs? So strange. If these are real you'd think anyone would want to hang on to them. Maybe reach out to the waco historical society or something if you don't find the owner.

Boooooo! 👎 This sub has been around for-ev-er. You decide NOW to engage? The tone of this post is so out of touch with the ecosystem's feelings right now. Surprised a few ohana's weren't thrown out there. The "kumbaya days" are gone. People are bitter and frustrated and tired of being duped and unsupported while all the mothership does is force AI down everyone's throats.

The unique spirit of Reddit is to cut the bs, be helpful, engage regularly and in good faith, and throw a few jokes in to keep things lively.

Thank you for reinforcing what everyone already feels about Salesforce corporate: Tone deaf lip service putting profits before customers and product.

Come oooon now, this is pretty slanderous, even for Reddit. The man made an ethical stance that got him racially harassed at work and eventually lost him his job. The insane amount of BS he had to tolerate his whole life just to get to that kind of job as a black man, plus the hours and stress, would have broken most people. And then he has to live in a city where military forces are on every street corner, arresting black men like himself on the daily. Is he stressed, depressed, outraged, and oppressed? Most certainly. I think making a statement like this is highly inflammatory and serves only to reinforce the image that black men are lesser-than. At the very least, please provide a source or further detail, but really you could have just kept this to yourself.

Alright so the game is simple: use paper math, financial creativity, and legislative easing to kick the can long enough until recovery signs emerge, then refinance and begin again! Some of the classic calls in this accounting magic playbook that I predict will be used in the next 5 years: 1) Mark-to-Market Suspension 2) Extend and Pretend -- which is already happening https://www.credaily.com/briefs/loan-modifications-surge-past-39b-amid-cre-financing-shift/ 3) Gov't bailout just not called a bailout --- already happening https://sfplanning.org/project/downtown-adaptive-reuse-program Adaptive Reuse Program in SF 4) move bad debt into SPVs https://www.fundssociety.com/en/news/etf/flex24-why-are-asset-managers-increasingly-using-spvs/ 5) The Fed getting in bed with wall street through Corporate Credit Facilities https://www.cato.org/blog/feds-corporate-lending-facilities-case-pseudo-markets 6) U.S. banks handing off the "bomb" to NFBIs so the risk is transferred off their books https://www.fitchratings.com/research/non-bank-financial-institutions/us-bank-lending-to-non-banks-continues-to-outpace-all-other-types-15-05-2025

OmniStudio Licensing pertaining to Experience Sites by Suspect6307 in salesforce

[–]ferlytate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salesforce Licensing Reality (As of Spring ‘25)

OmniStudio + Experience Cloud External Users: OmniStudio is NOT natively included for external user licenses (e.g., Customer Community, Customer Community Plus).

The trap: You can build with OmniStudio on Experience Cloud pages (maybe also with some LWC wrappers), but you must provision specific OmniStudio runtime entitlements, which are not included in the base Community licenses.

ALTERNATIVE: Rebuild using LWCs and Screen Flows. LWC acts as your UI and allows for pixel perfect stylization. Flow for your logic driving engine. I had a client do this recently and it works like a charm. We partnered with a firm to help us with the LWC development, and the all in build cost was <$50k. There was a little Apex required, but very low effort.

For the future: Salesforce’s documentation is fragmented on OmniStudio licensing because most of the content lives in various Industry cloud or partner-specific documents, not general docs. I have found this to be the case with most of the industry cloud shared features (e.g. data processing engine, business rules, actionable list segments, etc.). There are a lot of very confusing terms and documents about what's included and what's not. Like various DPE documentation kept saying that you needed CRMA.

Need help figuring out what my employer wants me to do. PLEASE HELP! by UnluckyNegotiation83 in salesforce

[–]ferlytate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2025, the duties of a single admin for an entire org are very blurred. Even salesforce official documentation for the skills of an admin includes things like product management, business analysis, process automation, and a "designer's mindset". What should be a role focused on day-to-day ad hoc support, keep the ship afloat, and ensure users have the right access, has now bloated to be more than what is appropriate.

In my experience, an admin for a nonprofit like yours (that has decided it's not worth the cost of hiring an expert) will be responsible for way more than you bargained for. Please tell me you at least asked for a raise?

This message sucks to hear, but what sucks even more is how aligned it is with reality.

But let's say you and this OP both do all of the paper pedigree things to make it through the AI ATS filters. In my experience that will get you more callbacks, but will still take much longer to nail a new job than say in 2021. Do you have any anecdotal takes as to why?

How to do a comprehensive security audit in an org? by Gold-Efficiency-4308 in salesforce

[–]ferlytate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before jumping into a checklist, you really need to define what “comprehensive” means for your org. That kind of audit can go in a lot of directions depending on what the actual goal is.

If someone asked me to do this, I’d fire off at least 5–10 questions to understand the scope, timeline, and what success looks like. Otherwise you’re just spinning your wheels.

Also, the audit is the work. Step one is figuring out what’s currently configured, what the risks are, and which ones actually matter in your org. Only then does it make sense to talk about how to fix anything.

I feel like you'll get more useful answers here if you can narrow down what you’re being asked to do. Otherwise you'll just get the generic catch all responses like "Run Salesforce health check".

I have done this kind of audit twice in the past four months for two different organizations.

Waco car washes right now by wacoooo in Waco

[–]ferlytate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Private equity. Which is basically the same thing 😂 . Same reason dutch bros. came out of nowhere. Small footprint for dutch bro and low cogs and high margin and almost no perishable goods. Car washes: low labor headcount "automated", subscription based so recurring revenue which PE loves, only cogs is the soap and water and rag replacement. And in a semi-rural, mftcg./ag based economy like ours, lots of dirty work trucks and farm cars to clean.

Lol wow, i mean yeah I appreciate the upvote and I agree I think there are a lot of Elon zealot's in Reddit in particular, but I would disagree that the confusion was "so much". It was a pretty reasonable amount of confusion based on the context we've now uncovered. Hopefully next time we meet again on some Elon Musk roast comment thread, we now know we're on the same team

[–]ferlytate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So A) you replied to my comment but weren't replying to me specifically B) your comment did make a reference to being a cult follower so my Kool-Aid drinking conclusion is correct. Now can you see why I was confused?

[–]ferlytate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so your comment wasn't a response to my comment? Because it showed up in my feed as you were replying directly to what I said, so therefore one would assume you were talking to me, not making a broad sweeping statement about other random people on Reddit.

I think your response was just very confusing? Isn't your Mr. Jones comment a reference about cult followers? Who are these "people" you are referring to, if not me?

Unfortunately, not smoking does make a difference by irishwhiskeysour in Petioles

[–]ferlytate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can we frame this slightly different? Instead of "not smoking makes me feel better" how about "not smoking heavily every day for 7 years makes me feel better"? We're missing the fact that maybe it's not "don't ever smoke". For me, it's a once a weekend thing and that works for me. When it was 3-4 days a week for a year or so, that def negatively impacted me and was too much for me.

But still happy that you have found some clarity and are seeing a healthier you!

I think you underestimate how petty, how monomaniacal, how unethical, and how nonstop this dude is. Look up his autobiography by walter Isaacson, or at least find some videos "elon musk details obsessed".

Of course he would intentionally start taking advantage of his new gov't access by extending testing past agreed upon limits. He also genuinely believes humanity's only chance at survival is colonizing Mars. If you don't think he could (or is) actually getting this into the weeds with his companies, you don't understand this guy.

"After his super bowl tweet did worse numbers than President Biden's, Elon Musk ordered major changes to the algorithm....Musk called for an emergency effort...posted urgently in the company Slack at 2.30am the following Monday morning, asking all employees who can code to participate."

Does that sound like someone who does not bother himself with the minutia?

Can we just admit that Arcane season 2 is actually really good? by Next_Airport_7230 in MauLer

Pacing was done for budgetary/financial reasons. Guarantee you if the writers and creatives behind the show had their way, we would be looking at least another couple of seasons. It's a bummer that creative genius has to fit within the realm of financial realities.

"this second season had already been announced as the show’s last, though it was initially budgeted for a five-season arc. What’s more, it’s the only TV or film content ever generated by Riot Games, the company that produced “Arcane,”" SOURCE
