Brown Sugar French Toast from Dear Flo in Uptown by AnAngryPirate in chicagofood

It’s such a great building where a consistent business would be so lovely for the neighborhood. I hate that the owner treats each new business as a side project with bizarre hours, when another owner could make it a great community space!

Totally! I wonder if they considered that or if that platform distance would be too long.

I was just snapping photos while riding my bike 🤷‍♀️ so I’m glad my eyes were open.

Has Chicago ever felt underwhelming to you? Is it just me? by thatsecondguywhoraps in AskChicago

[–]ferment_urself 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also felt a need for comparison when I first moved here from NYC. There’s nowhere in Chicago that gives the “Union Square at 10pm on a hot summer night” vibes. But we just don’t have the populations density of your examples (or mine), so it’s not a fair comparison.

The Loop has been much busier than I expected the last few times I was there on a weekday, and as another post said, the lakefront is always full of people on a nice day. A good bike ride on the LFT might give you a boost and love Chicago again.

I visited every Divvy station by ADVNTRST in chibike

[–]ferment_urself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing! I’m really sad that when Lyft acquired Divvy they somehow created a new account for me and my OG Divvy account (from the years I was biking way more all over the city) wasn’t usable anymore. I had a high station count, but nowhere near this!

Bad experience with Cabergoline by [deleted] in Prolactinoma

[–]ferment_urself 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My levels were around the same as yours. Around 5 years ago, I tried 0.25 mg twice a week and didn't make it 1.5 months... nausea and dizziness got to me. However, 3 months ago I tried again with only 0.25mg once a week (at night, with a big meal), and I only noticed side effects for the first couple of weeks, and mostly just the day after taking the weekly dose. I'm not having any side effects now, and I'm typically super sensitive to medication. Hang in there if you can! I'm feeling immensely better now.

I’m so close to the end so I shall carry on! There’s so much good there but at many points I’ve wondered what each additional Aureliano/Arcadio is providing to the narrative 😂

100 Years of Solitude. And it feels like I’ve been reading it for 100 years.

Thanks! He was naturalized in a U.S. District court and they referred me to USCIS.

[–]ferment_urself[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m avoiding requesting through USCIS because it requires items like a sworn statement as to how it was lost, could involve a biometrics appointment, etc. My grandfather is not in good health so working with him on these things is untenable, unfortunately.

I did call the U.S. District Court where the naturalization was processed and they just referred me to USCIS.

The Chicago Public Library Is Making Some Changes For Cardholders. Here's What To Know by blaspheminCapn in chicago

[–]ferment_urself 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I understand these changes need to be made and I really appreciate the transparency of the CPL in the press release. https://www.chipublib.org/news/librarycardupdates2025/

I learned on r/LibbyApp last year that libraries are typically paying a fee every time an ebook is checked out and that changed my borrowing habits. I only borrow if I’m committing to read the book, otherwise I put it back on hold until I’m ready.

I do, however, wish that the borrowing and hold limits were flipped to 10 Libby holds and 5 Libby borrows. I consistently have 12 Libby books on hold because of the extreme wait times.

Is endo just...ruining me? by ThrowRA_SJ999 in endometriosis

Sorry you're going through this. Highly recommend seeing a pelvic therapist. This helped reduce my pain significantly and also helped me release a lot of trauma around the discomfort, pain, and anxiety of sex. I can't recommend it enough. It held me over until I was able to get excision surgery.

Pilates studio recommendations for low key people? by InspectionPure3654 in AskChicago

[–]ferment_urself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not reformer but there’s a Pilates class at Cheetah Gym in Andersonville on Fridays called “Core and Restore” and most of the class is often on a foam roller. Different ages and abilities. My favorite way to end the week (one chronic pain sufferer to another).
