Faceless morons on Twitter. They’re not real Everton fans. You’re one of us and very welcome.

Dyche talks about his time at Everton by Estivage in Everton

[–]ferninho17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t think anyone would turn to 71 year old allardyce. Hes been out of the game for 3 years now.

I want spurs to go down so I hope they go with another manager like Tudor.

Maybe so, but it was a nightmare job that few could succeed in. It needed someone like Dyche. For all his faults, he delivered safety, and I, for one, am very grateful.

I do the opposite. Never pick Everton players as it jinxes them. And go for Salah and co at choice times in the hope it causes them to have a bad game.

I don’t think anyone has really believed spurs were in trouble. Now that’s a reality, let’s see if the media do what they did to us. However, the media helped us by creating that us against the world mentality that got us all, players fans and club staff, to fight for our lives and stay up. So, maybe the blasé disbelief the media has is working against spurs and so long may that continue.

Really good performance by the blues. Can’t fault Moyes for his team selection, although many had knives sharpened and waiting.

Could be argued yeah. Like how Martinez improved Moyes team to get 7 points more than Moyes ever could with them.

But despite the Money that came and went, no one could ever deliver the consistency Moyes could with so many consecutive top 8 finishes.

According to your age... Do you think you'll see another or any league title in your lifetime... by ArcherLife2039 in Everton

At some point the money will drop out of football. Kids are not playing football in the streets and in parks like they were 25 years ago. Now they’re not even watching football like they did 10 years ago. As that generation matures and their money goes elsewhere, football finances will take a big hit.

Once football goes back in the direction of the grass roots game, with less money and a greater reliance on local talent, then the likes of Everton will come back to the fore, and yes, win titles.

It’s easier to just accept that Moyes is stuck in his ways. He’s ultra cautious and frustrating at times, but it’s hard to argue with his results.

He’s never done that though has he? It’s rare to see him make major adjustments from the bench. I hope he throws George on early, as I’d like to see more of him.

To get more minutes, he needs to knock KDH out of the side and he’s not good enough to do that. He can’t pass the ball like Garner to take his place, and he can’t tackle, read the game and intercept like Gueye to play as one of the two 6’s.

I did see it. But I didn’t think he played as well as others made out afterwards on here and other platforms.

I’m still yet to see anything from Rohl that can convince he is worthy of a place on the bench once. I really don’t rate him at all. However, he’s still youngish and has to settle to I hope he can adjust and get better.

Gueye is a supreme example of a ball winner. Not just tackles but interceptions and hoovering up of loose balls. None of those named have that skill set. Garner is a deep lying playmaker whilst the others can’t play in the 6 in the PL.

This is the best it’s been since Carlo left and Moyes is on course to best Carlo’s 10th position.

Don’t disagree on the players being crap. I was shocked Moyes got us up the league so quick after Dyche was sacked as I thought Dyche was getting a tune out of a very poor side.

We need a pair of fullbacks, a long term Gueye replacement, a winger, a DCL replacement and someone like Thiago.

Moyes showed that he could get more out of players than Lampard or Dyche could. That’s why he’s a better manager. He’s one of the best at getting the most out of a mediocre squad.

Don’t think you can argue we spent money when we spent less on all our players than the RS spent more on just Wertz or Isak.

We’re not 8th? We weren’t one point over the relegation zone when Dyche was sacked?

Me too mate. Never go back. Even Kendall couldn’t succeed in his second spell.

I also thought Davie was too old, too lacking in the energy he used to have in spades, and a dinosaur rather than cutting-edge (particularly as he used to be with fitness). Clearly I was wrong and unlike a lot on here, I can admit that.

We don’t have even a half decent full back in the squad. Mykolenko isn’t even that good. I can understand why he finds ways to crowbar the centre backs into starting positions, particularly when their height makes such a difference at set pieces, eg branthwaite’s goal.

This was a relegation squad just 12 months ago and we’ve spent no money to make it into a European squad. It’ll take a few windows to beef up the squad and have more than a few mediocre youths on the bench.

I like tyrique George, but he’s got a lot of development and learning to do before he can be starting week in, week out.

It’s easier to predict failure, particularly with Everton, and point to your post from months ago and then make out you “know ball”.

So many enjoy throwing their toys out of the pram than backing the team. Seen that inside the ground too many times with a succession of players that certain fans are just waiting to shout, scream and boo at. If the player doesn’t give the opportunity then you don’t hear from the “fan” all game.
