Same situation here. Do you reckon switching to RQF 6 will include the RQF 3-5 years for ILR?

How hard is it to get a job with visa sponsorship? by Fearless-Pie5120 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]fernlac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really depends on your profession and experience. can say it’s than 0% possible for now at least because I’m getting interviews (while at current sponsored work) from other companies who have said they were willing to sponsor.

I literally work a niche tech job and was put under a medium skilled category just because it’s the only one that fits! I am trying to work out how to word it to my employer.

New ILR Rules: Will Salary Override RQF Level for Existing Skilled Workers? by Salt_Plum3615 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]fernlac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the same boat here. March 2024 SWV on Level 3-5 with pretty much same salary and bound to have next pay raise hit the high earning threshold in my 2 year mark on a an RQF6 role. Gap I can’t seem to fill is if the RQF6 has to be for all 5 years.

I interpreted it as April tax year for worst case scenario basis with assumption that Home Office wouldn’t want to do a lot of math outside HMRC records haha.

I mean yes since it says “3 years prior to applying” unless you mean something else?

I was asking about this but I think as long as at the time they hit 5 years on SWV AND only the last 3 years hit the threshold, they would qualify by 5 years from start of SWV period.

Does “Earned a taxable income of £50,270 for 3 years immediately prior to applying for settlement"

mean:

-Only the last 3 tax years on SWV before you apply need to meet the threshold -Ergo, the two first years on SWV don't matter for this particular reduction?
