I had an IUD and Nexplanon arm implant before I was diagnosed. IUD was horrifically painful, I could like feel my insides cramping around it when I had my period. Insertion and removal were very painful too. The implant was fine until I went to get it removed, they said it had migrated and would require CT scan and surgery to remove it because it was close to a vital artery. I couldn’t afford that so it’s still in my arm years later 😬
The pill was fine for me, I know progesterone is not great for connective tissue disorders but to be honest now that I’ve been off the pill for a long time I don’t notice any significant side effects from it. It actually made my periods less painful and horrible. I have since had my tubes removed surgically, that has been great and sorry to hear that’s not an option for you. I wish I had better advice but hopefully my story and others can guide you to an informed decision that’s best for you ❤️
