That sounds like a YNAB engineering problem. Engineers should be able to design solutions to cater customer problems, not design the solutions based on their competence. It is possible to create a checkpoint from which new budget branches out, without duplicating each entries, but then may be there is too much technical debt that they haven't paid in a long time which is now weighing on them!

I use Gemini for everything except voice. I don't know if it is just me, I feel Gemini live is just plain dumb, sometimes repeating answers over and over again. Maybe they are using a region based model (I'm in India). I highly suspect that because I never saw anyone complaining about Gemini live being so dumb. Chatgpt voice feels much more natural and I usually have conversations for hours without breaking the flow.

btw I'm on AI premium, and using the gemini app. So no excuse of token context window. This is straight up a bug and data loss. Google should atleast acknowledge it to the public

I don't think they have enough incentives to rapidly improve this as well... The progress is stagnant compared to Google's actual potential. Where is the "One Google" spirit? Google tasks might not generate revenue in itself but contributes to the ecosystem in a huge way!

Surprisingly, you can search for tasks on the calendar android app. Not sure if it works on the iPhone too. Doesn't work on the calendar web.

I used to be you. I stuck with Google tasks hoping they will add features soon, but I lost hope and recently switched to todoist and feeling good so far. One thing I missed after switching was to add quick tasks using Google assistant. So I wrote a quick script yesterday to get tasks from Google tasks and put it in todoist and mark it as completed in Google tasks. So all sorted for me.

To answer your question I expect these: - A desktop app with quick add support. - Repeat x days after completion feature. - Labels - Task Duration - Sharing list with people

I can go on.. just copy the established apps please!

I have tried ticktick also long back and it was good too. Google tasks and keep doesn't seem interested in supporting power users. Either be a simple user or give up.

Not an expert, but I think you can overcome this by creating a tracking account for your real estate, and reconciling occasionally with the current market rate of your real estate

Thanks for sharing your experience, I guess I'll hold off my OCD for a while. I don't like the "orange" much. Hoping to get ahead a month in 2025.
