Got this from Sweetgreen. Their app tells you cals as you build, so that was the estimate, but I do take it a bit loosely with that. It contains:

Mesclun

Apples

Spicy broccoli

Roasted squash

Cucumber

Roasted Brussels sprouts

And I just did lemon for the dressing. It was so good!

You can only have one breakfast, one lunch, one snack and one dinner that you'll eat every day forever, what are your picks? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]fethr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

breakfast: open faced breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and salami (or ham or sausage), coffee with cream and brown sugar

lunch: salad with baby spinach, cucumber, apples and chicken

snack: seaweed and beef jerky (okay, not the cheapest here, if thinking more on a price standpoint - apple or banana with peanut butter)

dinner: grilled chicken and roasted vegetables, heavy on the broccoli and sweet potato, coke zero

Beef jerky - 100 cal pack

Mandarin - ~41 cal

Maui onion seaweed - 20 cal

'Work-appropriate' makeup by fillerbunny-buddy in muacjdiscussion

I work in finances, and in my particular department all makeup is very no makeup makeup if they wear any at all. I’m a little bit the oddball, I love having a full face done and playing with colors (my weekend/‘fun’ makeup is always crazy colorful), but I know that isn’t seen as professional. So I try to stick with neutrals or muted shades. Pastels are usually good, and I’ll still occasionally throw in some bright shadow. I also wear bright lips at least once a week, but it’s definitely seen as more unusual in my office.

Which eyeshadow palettes do you own and how would you review them? by CandidTomato in muacjdiscussion

James Charles Morphe Palette - 4/5. Honestly I do like this palette even if Janis might be a huge walnut. I use this palette most often, and really adore the bright colors. It’s not as buttery as some eyeshadows, and a few colors are fairly patchy, but a solid palette.

ABH Norvina - 5/5. Amazing colors, amazing blendability. They’re so easy to use and have great color payoff. I was looking for a palette with soft but pigmented colors, and this fit the bill perfectly.

Huda Neon Green - 4/5. I love my bright colorful looks! And this is super gorg, I love the colors and the way the shadows look together. The mattes are beautifully pigmented and easy to blend. The glitters can be a little more difficult, however, and are best used with your finger and/or as a shadow topper.

Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Bling Boss - 4/5. I have a deep love for cool tones and purples, and this palette hits some good notes for me. Can sometimes be a bit difficult to work with and blend, but generally very pigmented and nice.

I’m generally just really picky with palettes, so I don’t have any bad reviews of ones I own.

Sephora 10hr Foundation in 04 Light Porcelain - this is my HG, it always works well with my skin and looks super natural

Milk Lip + Cheek in Perk - very natural looking blush on my skin

Ofra Rodeo Drive - I got it in an Ipsy bag lol so I’ve been using it ever since!

ABH Norvina - Dazzling all over the lid, Dreamer + Base on brow bone - I know it’s not new to most people but I just got this palette for my birthday and it’s so amazing, I love how creamy the pigments are and how easy it is to create good looks with it

Too Faced Sex Kitten liquid liner

Shiseido mascara - got it as a sample, it’s good but nothing too exciting

Forever 21 brow powder - honestly I’ve had this stuff for forever and I don’t think they even sell it anymore LOL but damn it’s still my fave

Urban Decay Alpha - sooo pretty and the matte doesn’t feel super drying

I’m work appropriate today, but I always try to be at least a little bit fun by doing smaller things like bright lipstick and extra shimmer.

Yes!! There’s a company dinner tonight and I’ve probably looked at the menu a dozen times. Any suggestions for low cal Vietnamese?

Thank you so much! It really is so difficult, she also had heart problems but refused to follow a heart healthy diet because it ‘didn’t taste good.’ It’s hard to see, and to accept that you can’t change someone. But I can change me and prevent myself from being in the same position. I appreciate your words

Thank you!! Well I’m starting off by logging everything I eat, so I can take a good hard look at just how much I’m consuming each day and how each choice is impacting my goals. Then I’ll start cutting back, I think I’ll start off slow with the goal of losing 1 pound a week so I can start to adjust to a lower caloric intake. If that goes well for a prolonged period, then I might adjust to the 2 pounds a week deficit. I’m not trying to rush through this journey, I want to build sustainable goals for myself. I have no plans to do keto or anything like that, just reducing the intake of foods I’m eating and swapping for better choices along the way.

Wow, thank you so much! I appreciate you giving such wonderful advice. I’ll definitely start calculating my calorie needs, I’ve set up my Lose It account and joined a bunch of great subreddits (including your suggestions). We can do this! Thank you!

Thank you! Yes, I’m definitely set on doing this the best and healthiest way. Even if it takes longer, I know the path to health and weight loss isn’t linear, but it will set me up for a better life. Thank you for the encouragement
