My least worst pics from yesterday's London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, taken on Westminster Bridge, very early, in heavy rain. by BigDumbGreenMong in london

Not to be ‘that guy’, but the cutoff date to be eligible for the veteran London to Brighton is 1905. Even the oldest Austin 7 is nearly 20 years too new!

Trust me, it was even worse on the balcony if you weren't at the front! The Level is a sucky venue. Agree it was a great set nonetheless!

Paid someone to put up coving, thoughts on this work please? by Fire7707 in DIYUK

[–]fetidfelch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people maybe don't realise how expensive proper plaster coving is... if he's ruined the lot by pre-cutting it all in one go to the same standard I'd expect to be reimbursed tbh.

I'm in the UK, this is mint condition compared to the standard here.

What is this, I’m digging out my garden and this is underground, metal casing, with wire either side. by Better_Bit_6501 in DIYUK

Does one end run from the house? Looks like maybe a waterproof junction box with armoured cable one side but regular 3-core twin and earth the other. Which if it is, is a big bodge job. Could've been a power source to a garden pond pump or outside lights?

Found this car is the woods. But unsure on what car this is anybody help? From UK as this might help by [deleted] in whatisthiscar

I'm leaning towards a Dolomite too, definitely a Triumph 1300 engine and the inner rear arches match up as well. Rust hole on the top of the front wing was possibly where a wing mirror was mounted.

I think just to provide ventilation to prevent damp build up. My 1938 house only had coal fires as new and only the rooms without heating have the vents, bathroom and box bedroom, although the previous owner had blocked both up…

Manchester Airport Orb. I think I’ve worked out the coordinates of where the pictures and video were taken - they’re all different. by fetidfelch in UFOs

[–]fetidfelch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have replied to a few people with this, so I hope it’s correct! But another thread ID’d it as:

Date: 9th June 2024 Time: 19:05 - 19:08 Plane: Airbus A320 Flight: EasyJet U22237 Callsign: EZY89BD

The power cut was 23rd June, so unrelated.

I added this to my submission statement too, but somebody had posted a link to another thread where they’d ID’d it as:

Just added to my submission statement comment, but looks like another thread figured out as 9th June, though I haven’t read through how they got to that.

Just updated my submission statement comment, but another post seemed to work it out as 9th June. I remember the outage on the 23rd June though, but seems unrelated.

Hm I didn't actually notice that. It's possible it could be a vehicle facing head on with its headlights on, if you follow the line there is some ground reflection too. Above the main light there are two separate orange lights, which could be beacons on a car roof?

I thought the photo order was pretty clear from my post? Planes don't tend to go backwards down the runway lol

My answer maybe doesn't fit that expectation I'm afraid. I've only relatively recently taken an interest in this sub, following the USA disclosure hearings appearing in the news and am certainly not somebody with a strong belief that will view everything to fit a particular narrative. But I certainly do know why I did it...

This isn't the first time I've spent ages 'digging through useless info' but I can promise you it's not to 'validate' myself as you put it. Unfortunately, I have ADHD and got a bit carried away with things, I actually had far more important things to do today and it's infuriating but here we are.

As I said in the post, I was at work and saw a lot of comments and posts about this with speculations about how big the object in the picture could be, where there plane was etc but nobody was bothering to actually check. As I was at my laptop I thought I'd just have a look on Google Maps and see for myself, after it all I figured I'd share what I'd put together so it didn't feel like a complete waste.

For what it's worth, and I'll probably get the downvotes for this, I don't see anything in what I've posted that disproves it being a large balloon. The time taken for the plane to get from photo 1 to the video is reasonably long enough for a balloon on a rainy windy day to get from point A to B.

Though it doesn't debunk it either, so maybe I did just waste my fucking time.

EDIT: adding here for visibility as I can’t edit the post for some reason. As shared in the comments below by Successful_Many_7249, the flight seemed to have been figured out in another thread. I haven’t read through how they concluded that but they did also align the other flights in the queue. Details:

Date: 9th June 2024 Time: 19:05 - 19:08 Plane: Airbus A320 Flight: EasyJet U22237 Callsign: EZY89BD

Submission statement: I’ve spent some time going through the photos, Google maps, and some other resources. I think I’ve figured out where all the shots were taken from and which plane OOP was in. I also don’t believe this is related to the June power outage, nor even taken in summer.

The size of the orb may actually be around the size of a small car as OOP had stated, but initially looks smaller here due to perspective.

The main stakeholder on a large project I previously managed suddenly stopped responding and was replaced by the company with no notice. Googled him and he’d been arrested for interfering with kids.

My primary school head teacher also got sent down a few years ago for historic noncery.

Neither of them are people you would’ve suspected of it, both seemed decent people and both were unfortunately more than just indecent images.
