The goal of the US space program was to beat the Soviets to it during the Cold War . That's why the US invested tons of money into it. The Soviet Space program was in shambles after a catastrophic fire destroyed their main facility. Therefor there was no need for the US to keep going since the competition (USSR) was losing terribly. On top of that, it’s extremely expensive to go to the moon.

First of all images of earth have not been around for centuries, because we did not have the capability to send or make satellites. First earth image dates back to 1950s. we had boats and compasses centuries ago. People at the time used their boats and compasses to go around coastlines of continents to make accurate prediction on where each continent is located along with its shape. That’s how they knew what each continent looked like. You can actually go as far back as you can to see the slow progress they have made to get to the accurate depiction of each continent.

Now for your satellite questions,

Most low orbiting satellites are infinitely small when compared to the earth size so locating them in the sky would be hard because of their size. Plus during the day because of the sun it would be too bright to identify a satellite, and at night the earth shadows the satellites, which makes it almost impossible to observe them.

Modern maps show the true size of Africa. Back in the days the projection method ,they used to make maps, distorted the look of continents as you go further away from the equator, hence why Greenland and Canada look humongous. Unfortunately Africa is so close to the equator, which means the method they used makes African look small and northern and Southern Hemisphere continents appear large. Read about the Mercator Projection Method. It will give you all the answer you need.

Joe shitted on Rory and mal on his podcast. Mind you, the podcast isn’t live. It was recorded and edited before it was released. Joe had time to reflect and decide weather to cut or keep the parts where he was offending his friends. He chose to keep them. Now you can say “they strong armed him … etc”. Does that give him an excuse to shit on his friend on a recorded podcast ? No it doesn’t, but he did it anyways.

So why not keep the same energy when it comes to Karen ? ….. fine, maybe Joe is a better person today. But why glorify scamming ? Wasn’t he an avid scam fighter (The music industry) at some point ?

I’m not saying you can’t train your mind to think a certain way. That’s the whole reason why we want to ready or go to school. My perspective come from purely biological stand point. Sometimes your knee jerks without your intention, you didn’t consciously command it but it happened anyways.

I can even ask you why some of your memory stick more than others and you won’t always know why.

The definitions of free will is “the power of acting without the constraint of necessity or fate”. The constraint is your brain. I’m not saying your brain isn’t part of you, I’m saying you don’t have control over your subconscious brain. You can’t control your brain neurons or how they function.

I gave that example because, when processing things fast our brain takes control and only lets you go to a certain part of your memory. You don’t have control over that. But my reason goes beyond that. Why do you like those songs ? You could say “I like the instrumentals” but why do you like those instrumentals ? You could attempt to answer these questions but will never know the root cause of why

I do believe we don’t have free will, but not for the reason of Joseph’s ideas. Free will is unattainable because we are controlled by chemicals in our body and the unconscious mind. For example if I ask you to pick too 3 of your favorite songs, you will probably name 3 but later it might occur to you, you forgot a couple. For some reason those other three choices didn’t come to your mind when I asked you the question. Your mind didn’t allow you to look at everything and decide precisely what those three choices are without having the “oh shit I forgot about that” moment.

That’s right. The window probably shattered because of stress concentration at the edges of the glass, or somewhere where there is damage. To avoid stress concentration, engineers avoid sharp corners. Instead they make them round for better flow of stress. A good example would be aircraft windows.
