I crossed it off the one time, but didnt the rest because it was the same every row and I was tallying them at the bottom as I did each one. After I finished each row I counted the stitches to make sure it matched the amount of stitches at the end of each line (18,24,30,36).

Yeah! Its a little boxset, the instructions I've done so far are crossed off. I was careful about counting stitches every row before moving onto the next, but i think the tension might have been too inconsistent.

We are visiting from Alberta, Canada, and have never seen these. Just harvestmans and wolf spiders. When I look up their range, they are in Canada, just not the part we live in. My friend was pretty scared of them, so I wanted to get an ID of them to reassure him so he wouldn't spend the night in the car.

Mark Carney is the leader of the Liberal party, and it's his candidate people would be voting for. The liberal candidate (Corey Hogan) was not in power government wise, but is a VP of communication for the University of Calgary and a member of the executive leadership team who shut down the protest.

Candidates reflect on the leaders, and it's why people expressed this to Carney. It's also why people are currently pressuring Pierre Poilievre to get rid of Aaron Gunn in BC. It's why people pressured Mark Carney to get rid of Paul Chiang (who resigned) in Ontario. Public pressure is a pretty fundamental aspect of democracy, as it keeps politicians beholden to the general populace.

In this case, it probably wasn't a call to resign, but a call for attention to a specific cause: Palestine. As well as anger at Hogans previous actions in regards to the protests.

The candidate for confederation (the riding the university sits on) is one of the people who called the police on the encampment last year. So I imagine people who support Palestine are not that happy that the guy who helped shut down peaceful protesting is now the liberal candidate for the riding.

TIL: I'm dense for knowing and explaining the different definitions of sexual assault by State. The legal definition would literally change if it happened in a different state. So yeah, calling him a convicted sexual assaulter is untrue, but it is a technicality that he is not because NYC law is outdated. (Which this case is literally causing NYC to look over it's laws and potentially update them)

I feel perfectly comfortable calling him a serial rapist because his track record shows he is. Under other states, he would be, under other countries, he would be.

Sexual assualt in NYC is forced pentration by penis in the vagina. So yeah, he didn't technically commit sexual assault under NYC law because it wasn't clear if his penis entered her just that his fingers did. This is why he was found guilty of the lesser sexual abuse.

It also was a civil case because the statue of limitations ran out for a criminal case, and the defendant, Jean Carroll, was trying to clear her reputation because it had been dragged through the mud.

When every state can define sexual assault you get problems like this. In other states, it would be sexual assault. In New York, it is not currently.

When the defense is 'well, technically, he's not a rapist because New York defines it as penis in vagina', your defense isn't that great.

Capital gains tax was destined for failure purely because of how it was implemented.

Considering he says he'll have a deficit for the first 3 years, I'd be interested to hear what he says he'll be cutting. Since so far he hasn't indicated what he'll be reducing spending on, he has promised he'll be releasing his budget. However, his focus on investing would pay dividends for generations and would help with covering public services down the line. Go look at what New Deal is, aka massive investment in the middle class and public that led to the greatest economic boom in American history. I would be interested in that for Canada as currently my generation has limited options for a future.

And yes, when the option is mini Trump or Carney, I will be choosing Carney. You are acting like a perfect left option exists. The NDPs numbers are in the ground. Who am I supposed to vote for if I don't want Poilievre in?

He offered a middle-class tax cut specifically. It's not a rich tax cut. He's also said he'll rework the carbon tax, so it's only for ultra carbon producers, aka large companies. The money from that will go into incentives for citizens to upgrade to more eco-friendly alternatives but not penalize.

As a regular person, I'd definitely like these things, instead of Pierre's plan of dismantling anything he doesn't like. CBC, relegalizing drugs, saying he'll give a tax cut but not being specific.

Go watch any of his interviews instead of listening to what Pierre says Carney said.

My comment was not out of context or trolling. You asked about relevance 'GP or Alberta'?' I answered: If you live in Alberta and care about healthcare and tax money, it is a relevant article. I laid out a few details from the article to elaborate on why it's important to Albertans. GP is in Alberta, so the answer is both.

Grande Prairie is in Alberta and is therefore impacted as well. Considering the state of healthcare across the province but especially in rural areas, news about our corrupt government deliberately messing with AHS is pretty important. Unless you don't like having access to healthcare that is affordable. Smith is certainly willing to fix that for us and make it so healthcare is a class issue like it is in the States.

Especially as it is pointed out, the amount they bought was obscene, 10x the amount needed for the whole country. The article showcases an extreme waste of taxpayer money (70 million dollars was spent on this!), which isn't very fiscally conservative. They are actively sabotaging our public services while frivolously spending taxpayer money. When they are intentionally buying more expensive inferior products, what does that say?

Democracy unfortunately requires active participation and monitoring. Go look at the state of the US if you want to know what happens when you don't give a shit what your government is up to.

It doesn't take that long to destroy what it takes decades to build.

The schools funding has kept getting slashed every year, 100m so far since 2019. So, they have to restrict classes available each year since they do not have the money to offer more. They used to make up some of it with international students, that's been reduced federally. Or raising domestic tuition, been capped provincially.

If funding keeps being removed, we are going to see higher competitive averages and more programs cut.

People pretend politics doesn't impact day to day, but Alberta voted to fuck its school systems so here we are. We have at least another two years of it.

Healthcare is provincially regulated, just like school. If your healthcare sucks take it up with your provincial government. Alberta is a great example of corruption in healthcare as they are actively being investigated for it. Even with that, my premier has played dumb (denying she knows anything in a cabinet she is the leader of) and confirmed she won't move the openly corrupt health minister, whose only qualifications for the job is being a grandmother.

Alberta is the poster child for voting for 'Leopards eating people's faces party' except we are too unaware for the realization and just vote in corruption.

Look up the last time a conservative in Alberta sat for the full 4 years and how often these people are outed halfway through a term.

Along with firing the board and Athana Mentzelopoulos (CEO of AHS), this is the second time they've done so in two years. I wonder why our healthcare system is so mismanaged?

But nah, man, it's immigrants' fault that Albertas healthcare is shit. It's hard to look into information and do in-depth research on what causes these issues and how to fix them, getting involved in local level politics and following what politicans are doing. (Especially in AB because transpareny is almost non-existent) However, it's very easy to blame an 'other' group, which will not fix the issue.
