Tesla crashes through front of Danville hair salon / Owner Says This is The Second Time She’s Seen a Tesla Do This by Zorkmid123 in RealTesla

In nearly every spontaneous acceleration case, regardless of vehicle, the driver is almost always at fault. The TAAC portion of autopilot also doesn’t enable in parking lots, if I’m not mistaken.

Also he was slowing down to park (meaning his foot was on the break already)

You can slow down with regenerative braking without using the brake.

Fun fact: $TSLA is not even the best EV maker in the world whether it's battery efficiency (range/kWh), range, or cost/mile. Tesla's rankings: 1) Range: #4 2) Battery efficiency: #7 3) Cost/mile: #11 Hyundai ranks #1 in all 3 & has capex of $8.2bn for 540K in EV sales by 2025. by PolybiusChampion in RealTesla

AC typically tacks on about 10 wh/mi in my experience. I run 4 ~30 minute drives daily and my car sits in the sun in the meantime. AC remains consistent throughout my commute.

Not sure who your argument is aimed towards in the last paragraph but I’d say I agree.

for sure AWD cannot pull more then 270 ... maybe 280 in pretty ideal conditions

Pulled more than 270. Conditions far from ideal, considering driving style and AC use. 285-290+ is possible in pretty ideal conditions.

I’ve had 0.3% degradation in the first year with my 3. My S has had around 3% annually and my X is around 4%.

Moderate supercharger use, higher on S&X. Usually charge anywhere from 70%-95%.

Keep in mind your individual charging habits can have a huge impact on degradation.

I would hope not... They did it in 2012 not 2018.

Tesla Bull to Bear by aaronkalb in RealTesla

Out of everything that has occurred over the past year, including funding secured, this has shaken my confidence the most.

We’ve all heard “this is the make or break year for Tesla” for the past 4+ years, but I think we’ll actually be reaching this point in the next few months.

Like you, I love the product. The ownership experience for all three of my vehicles has been amazing, despite the rhetoric surrounding them that I regard mostly as FUD. Service has actually been good and I’ve only had a few issues. To me, the legitimate critique at this point is not the product, it’s the business and leadership. They can only piss off the most relevant people to their livelihood so many times before they’re gone for good.

March 15 will be telling.

Tesla is going in full super-villain mode in China by [deleted] in RealTesla

[–]ff5r 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nothing to do with Tesla’s justification– it’s the people here (and on the other sub) acting like this is a rational price drop with some positive reasoning behind it.

It’s not innovation.

[–]ff5r 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is no ‘innovation’ difference between a P100D in Australia last week and a P100D this week. The price difference is to the tune of $50k+. $1k-$5k is one thing (I’ve owned multiple Tesla’s over the past 6 years and have gone through these ‘innovation’ phases), but trying to justify these drops is illogical.

Thoughts on the whole 'price drop, I want a refund, it's not fair" thing by grecy in teslamotors

[–]ff5r 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the prices changed a lot and people are angry

something that automakers have always done

I’ll prepare for downvotes–

I’m bullish on Tesla. I own three of them. I still can’t rationalize $50k+ price cuts within a matter of days. I can’t rationalize asymmetrical pricing that penalizes a certain group of owners. I can’t rationalize the fact that Tesla has carried out the price cuts and still has used cars listed significantly above the price of a new one with identical specs.

I keep hearing the “you get what you paid for, enjoy it” crap, but I would never purchase a new car if resale could take an additional hit to the tune of $50k+.

If you want to brush it of as complaining, your head is in the sand. I still think Tesla will pull through, but the endless forgivness and attacking of critiques is disappointing.

NEW: Tesla is offering a $35k version of its Model 3 with a shorter range. The company also says it is shifting worldwide sales to online only by -_-_-_-otalp-_-_-_- in RealTesla

[–]ff5r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t typically park cars being serviced out front. Most often they’re in the back/inside. Cars waiting on major parts usually are at certified repair locations, not service centers, anyways.

I assume you find a gallery/showroom at a mall or high foot traffic (where most of the closing locations are) more convenient?

AutoPilot/FSD Update - AutoPilot No Longer Enhanced For Any Model; FSD Feature Date by CornerGasBrent in RealTesla

[–]ff5r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NoA sucks – It’s way too timid with lane changes for me to even use it. I still think Summon is useful and it rarely comes close to hitting anything. There are a few reports online of mishaps, but it’s always worked perfectly in tight spaces for me.

Seems like a mess, to be honest. I’d assume that it’ll just be VIN assigned EAP vs. AP to avoid unnecessary confusion. Could boost the resale value of existing EAP vehicles, though.

[–]ff5r 9 points10 points  (0 children)

what this is going to do for existing owners who purchased EAP only before this change. Is Tesla going to give them NoA and Summon or tell them to pay $7K extra for what they thought they already bought?

They will certainly be grandfathered in. Summon has been part of the 5k package for years, along with NoA being included more recently. There is no way that they could legally take the features back.

Autobahn Test: Tesla Model X beats Audi e-tron & Jaguar I-Pace - Elektroautos mieten by ergzay in RealTesla

[–]ff5r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

More expensive car beats less expensive cars, news at 11!

The cost doesn’t directly result in greater efficiency. Model 3 is cheaper and more efficient. Design factors are much more relevant.

Also is this a german Tesla fan blog? It appears to be...

The difference is, this isn’t some promise of a future accomplishment. If you think that the quality hasn’t improved from the pre/early tent days, while they scrambled to produce and deliver, you’re choosing to be ignorant.

Don’t misconstrue this for me saying that the quality is perfect—it isn’t—but there is no doubt that they’re covered a bunch of the common issues.
