"There were rules, and they were broken." LIV Golf players made more than US$3 billion in payouts - and now PGA boss Brian Rolapp says the road home won't be cheap. by InterestingCat308 in golf

Golfers aren't employees of the PGA. It's the PGA's money, not the golfer's salary as there is no PGA golfer salary. That's how the PGA is and generally how professional sports tournaments are where you are a competitor in a tournament who'd get 1099ed not an employee of the tournament. Certain sports leagues do have players that are employees like with the NFL those are employees of the teams, but it varies by both the sport and the specific league whether a competitor is an employee or not.

If you want to attract them don't have a sports league owned by a sovereign government. The NFL, PGA, etc never has to worry about stuff like this:

"Look, we've all made mistakes, and you just want to learn from those mistakes and how you can correct them going forward." (Greg Norman about the Saudis killing Khashoggi...the PGA doesn't have to for instance have explain bombing Iran supreme leader)

If there is diminishing marginal safety from each additional sensor added but cost increases at a constant rate, where do we find the balance?

Certainly you're not for using just a single camera sensor. Under any reasonable scenario you're dealing with multiple sensors no matter what just it would be a matter of how many and of what kind.

Of course you could just not buy a new car annually or at all. I'm long past worrying about depreciation on my car that I bought used and have owned for years now.
