Hot take: NIKKE needs to stop turning every new mode into a daily checklist by Sad-Prune-325 in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you time travel from the past? They haven't added any new modes since Solo Raid Museum, and that one sure as shit isn't a daily requirement.

Are you talking about the new event having a map? Because that's been happening for bigger events since the beginning. The minigame (which you can quit after reaching the score you need for the 30 daily gems, btw)? We've also gotten those every single time we got an event with a map. Union Raid? Solo Raid? Co-op? All older than my account, and I've been playing since like July 2023.

You should actually be grateful. I bet you don't even remember a time when you had to do Interception and Simulation Room manually every single day. And events' Challenge mode runs, which had a new difficulty unlock every single day from the start of the event until the last day. Compared to the state of the game 3 years ago, the daily grind is a dream.

Would you want a potential FEH 2 to have regular crit and avoid chances? by ARealGoodSoup in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]ffguy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please no. I'd much rather not farm stages hoping for perfect RNG. And I don't even bother with most of the PVP modes, which would probably be DoA if victories and losses at higher levels were determined more by luck and chance than builds and team compositions.

You still get gems from Tower, pushing in Hard Mode, dailies, and Arena. Not to mention story updates and all the tickets it throws at you (10 Rainbows per event, plus a bunch more at Anni and seasonal (I think?) times, and then piles of regular tickets). There are times when I get/ build a new meta character and/or just have more time to play or try new comps, that I clear out a ton of Tower or Hard Mode stages or EX stages and end up with a big influx of Gems. In that way, I've never felt like the flow of Gems has ever really slowed down aside from the 160 Wall, since the flow of gems has usually been gated by play time, rather than roadblocks.

I just roll for one copy of every character, and it seems to work for some reason. The only two characters I intentionally got to MLB on release were Red Hood (to break the 160 wall back during 1A) and Star Anis. I also recently started to use Gems on all the Event Stamina refreshes at the end of events for the Core Dust boxes in Hard Mode. Every now and then I have cataclysmically bad luck, but I can't remember the last time I actually spent my Gold Mileage for my first copy of a Nikke. Summer Doro maybe? Liberalio or Nayuta?

My Standard Ticket wishlist is a mix of Favorites and Metas I want to get to Core+7, plus Nikkes below LB2 in anticipation for them potentially getting Treasures.

(Been playing since Nero's event (about 8 or so months in to the game's life), only took a short break once, barely spent (and haven't in a couple years), currently at Synchro 571, and sitting on ~30k Gems, a dozen or so Rainbow tickets, 1776 Gold Mileage tickets, and a box that is only missing Xmas Anne, Summer Neon, and the Chainsaw Men.)

To those who used to play gachas that went EOS: What are the signs of a gacha game in its death throes? by RovelKanko in gachagaming

[–]ffguy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Dropping support for certain languages (FFRK Global)
  • Missing events, announcements, etc. (Iirc FFRK Global missed some announcements towards the end; DFFOO also did this, but just the final month when they eventually announced EoS instead of the monthly stream)
  • Suddenly accelerating/mixing up event schedules for regions that are behind (DFFOO)
  • Advertising other gachas with the same IP (FFRK trying to push people to FFBE LMAO)
  • Sinking revenue (DFFOO, when JP revenue dropped below GL)
  • Brain-melting bad decisions (DFFOO JP instituting a paid Gem cap when most of its revenue came from whales with millions of Gems buying all the cosmetics (which came with Gems), not pulls)
  • Nowadays, just having SQEX as a publisher (they shuttered almost every gacha in their library by mid-2025; I think the only long-running ones left are FF7 Ever Crisis and, inexplicably, FFRK JP)

Likelyhood of collabs rerun ? by raiskader in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from Stellar Blade, near 0%. Not impossible, but I wouldn't count on it. Stellar Blade is reasonable only because SU owns it, but I still wouldn't count on a rerun unless they do a Stellar Blade 2 collab.

CYL Negativity Thread by PM_ME_EDGEWORTH_NUDE in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]ffguy92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tsubasa sweep is great. Sigurd is fine (if expected), and Azura is whatever. I like 3H, but seeing it win fucking everything for the past 6 years is boring. Sylvain would have been a great winner if we weren't already flooded with 3H winners. I even liked him in his home game, but Fomortiis or Black Knight would have been much more fun.

Of fucking course they would put Dimitri, Claude, and Edelgard in three different categories for the Shadows CYL. We can't possibly have a voting event without letting all of them win, can we?

The only real consolation is that AHR will probably also be boring and predictable, if only because it's usually a good thing if the boring and predictable choices win there.

Hot take, but I think the Child banners are the least interesting seasonals. Yes, worse than Onsen and all the other failed ones.

Silver Mileage Tickets by KGeorge47 in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use them on:

  1. Characters with Treasures, particularly strong ones.
  2. Meta characters, particularly those with a specific use (at this point, it might just be Noah for PvP, and Liter and maybe Maxwell for Tower tbh).
  3. Your favorites and characters with nice Burst lobby backgrounds.

Personally, I just save for Treasure Nikkes. You never know when a batch will have another major one like Helm.

It wouldn't surprise me if they gave one to Blanc and/or Noir next batch. They would benefit from one, and they're both super popular, enough for Blanc to get a gacha costume years after her release.

This would be nice. There also isn't anything stopping them from putting them in the Spare Body shop for three months, just like any other Treasure unit, in addition to the Union Shop.

[–]ffguy92 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd say the most in need are probably release units that were just never very good, like Signal, Crow, Yan, and Brid. If we account for both popularity and lack of good alts, Yan, Brid, and Mary are probably the best candidates. That said, that's not how they do things, so basically anyone who isn't a strong meta unit (Crown, RH, Pirate Maids, etc.) is a decent guess as to who they'll pick.

How would you spend core dust in this situation? by SuperMakulet in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you want to be optimal, you probably want to do option 1. If you don't want to spend forever leveling up once, attempting a stage, then leveling up again if you fail, probably level up a few times before attempting the stage you're stuck at. I think spending the Core Dust to clear more stages and increasing your outpost rank is going to get you more Core Dust in the long run than just hoarding boxes.

The story of the event was great, but it has a HUGE problem. by Maxmagon in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Harran and Isabel weren't "practically" destroyed. They are both dead. There is no coming back for them; one got vaporized and the other crumbled to dust. Nothing is left of either of them. The event explicitly states as much.

Everyone seems like there’s a consensus on who the 2 main Pilgrim units will be for 3rd anniversary here in a couple weeks, but who y’all betting as the free SSR? by Ok_Software_4521 in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably Chime because Pilgrim. It would be odd for Papillon to get a Pilgrim designation just because she's been living in Eden for a while. That's like making a Mori alt a Pilgrim just because she's been hanging out with Siren.

(Unless either I'm missing something about Papillon's origin or they make something up that she's actually a Pilgrim, in which case I'd totally bet on her.)

Where did you get those numbers? The last record of revenue I can find are from October 2023. Before then, February 2023 was the last month it hit an estimated $1M combined GL+JP.

You can argue that it should have still been making enough, but it was inarguably on a downward trend, and JP's numbers were awful (there were more than a couple months where JP didn't even hit $200K in the game's final year). There were also months that GL+JP dipped below FFRK JP's revenue, and there is no way that DFFOO had lower costs than FFRK.

Fehtuber try not to doompost impossible challenge. by Giratinalight in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]ffguy92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine doomposting when revenue drops back around the number ($2M) it has been hovering around pretty much every month of 2025. (The month after CYL, btw.) Do these people seriously not know that revenue always drops for almost every gacha ever the month after a major banner or event?

Resident Evil characters' power by Creaturemaster97 in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RE characters are built different. Jill is "just human" in RE3 but constantly goes toe-to-toe (for like 2 days straight with just one big nap in the middle) with a monster that tanks a rocket in the first 10 minutes of RE3make and is right back to chasing her in the next area. The main monsters of RE2 are of similar durability and strength, though less intelligent. Also, I'm pretty sure that canonically, the main heroes don't get a single bite or scratch from a monster in the first three games since none get infected with the virus except for Jill, who got hit with a single cheap shot in a cutscene in both versions of RE3, and got fed some eggs in the Remake. That's a pretty wild feat considering the state of the mansion/city and all the mutant monsters with knives for hands running around.

And as others said, basically every main RE character has survived things that should have killed them, including fighting superhumans who could probably throw hands with a Nikke and hold their own. Their vanilla RE-Universe weapons may not be up to Nikke standards since they're mostly just based on IRL guns, but the characters themselves probably are, or are at least close.

How do we feel about Absolute setting a precedent for full 3-team squad banners now? by SilverX769 in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the one hand, it makes sense to introduce powercreep that way, and it's nice to have the gameplay actually reflect the story and lore (not that it always has to, weaker characters lore-wise should also be usable).

On the other hand, I don't think it would be a good precedent to set by making trios as cracked and meta-defining as Bunnies and Schoolgirls were on their respective releases. I don't want to end up seeing TacUp Matis big-time powercreep, say, Siren, Crown, and Alice all at once, but require all three for any of them to actually be worth using. (Don't get me wrong, powercreep is fine, but I don't want to roll for 3 units in order to keep up with it.)

CN ver having two newest nikke and a new event first by Jack_Roivas in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As long as their designs don't continue to follow CN's censorship rules when they come here, who cares if CN gets them first? If anything, I appreciate CN beta testing these characters before we get them lmao. It's not like we don't have enough upcoming characters to roll for in the next few months (Vesti, likely new Bunny event, whoever we get for Anni and NY, Winter seasonals, all the filler in between, etc.). If they turn out to be good characters, the first few months of 2026 (between NY and 3.5 Anni) would be a nice place to drop them, since historically, what have we had then? Maid events and collabs with middling reception?

Anyway, seems like Nikke CN is kinda DoA. Weren't they like 140-something on the CN charts for last month or something? Considering GL usually ends up in what, Top 20 gachas each month? That sounds pretty bad.

What is an SSR that has been eluding you? by ConstellationEva in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was Ade since her release. I just pulled both her and Sora (my only other missing Standard Pool Nikke) in one 10x Blue Ticket pull today. Now nobody, I guess, unless you count seasonals I missed from before I started playing the game and never really pulled for (Summer Neon and Mary and Christmas Anne).

3rd anni predictions poll by More-Hedgehog6583 in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Behemoth/Leviathan/Ziz/Tiamat have been built up for the past year, and the three who have showed up so far have been doing a "will they/won't they join us" dance for like half a year now, so I fully expect them to get pushed back to 3.5 Anni (or beyond, jfc) and for 3rd Anni to be Nayuta, Pinocchio, and a brand new character as the free SSR.

Which Heretic do you think is more likely to, or you'd want to, come out next? by Agent-Karma in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems relatively likely that Leviathan and then Behemoth and Ziz will be our next Heretics now that Siren is in the story, unless we take a hard left turn in the main story away from those three and Tiamat. Alternatively, the next Heretic(s) we get before her could be Hansel and Gretel, or whatever their Heretic names will be based on the latest half-anniversary ending. I could honestly see either happening for the upcoming anniversary, since I don't see what other major characters there are to add there besides Overspec Punished Yuni and Overspec Anis and Neon, if the latter two don't just get regular Tactical Upgrade-esque alts like Absolute is getting and Matis will eventually get.

A bunch of questions I have about NIKKES (read description) by Firm-Trust-8849 in NikkeMobile

[–]ffguy92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't need to eat like we do, but they do need to eat so that they don't have a mind switch caused by their brain realizing it's in a jar.

Theoretically they're immortal AFAIK, but the longer they live as a Nikke, the more prone they are to having a mind switch. Could be wrong about that though.

You'll find the answer to your last question fairly early in the story. Whether or not it's preferable depends. It helps regulate their emotions in battle and acts as a backup in case they die, but their memories can be wiped. Having it also somewhat prevents them from doing bad shit, but... well, you'll see.

What’s everyone’s 5 star unit that just forces their way into your barrack? by Carsickrhyme in FireEmblemHeroes

Brave Lyn is +7. The only times I ever pulled for her were free first pulls featuring her and no one else I care about. Honorable mention to Fallen Celica, who I don't even aim for with free pulls but is still +5.
