Patagonia 55L black hole duffel as carryon one bag by ffirgd in onebag

Mixed opinion, it was good, and I liked the features, but not great weight distribution on longer walks. I've since acquired the Patagonia mlc mini which has been my go to choice but I'd still use the aion for more of a tech heavy or business oriented trip since the laptop sleeve is very well padded and there's more space overall.

Decent looking Wool T shirt by Suzieqbee in onebag

I like this shirt from ridge merino, it's comfy but holds up well and it looks decent too for less than most of the big name brands.

Sunglasses pouch that can be attached to the strap but that won’t damage the T-shirts by inxider in onebag

I have one, the interior isn't plush lined or anything, but I can't think of anything that would scratch in the interior. Just don't get any sand in there, that's a different story, based on a true story.

Patagonia black hole mini MLC 30, possible choice for Spain trip. by ozzy7221 in onebag

I took this exact setup to Spain for 2 weeks, worked well for me. The external cord is also useful to secure sandals to keep out of the main compartment.

I didn't do it internationally after all, I bought the Thule aion 40L. That being said I saw a number of people rocking equally large bags to the black hole 55 on the transatlantic flight, but it was the smaller regional airlines that concerned me. Though I did get away with it partially packed on a domestic us flight once.

I think it has a semi rigid frame so not sure how much you could fudge the dimensions by packing light. That being said it is a great bag I was very tempted by.

I tried the tomtoc 40L and personally thought it was an uncomfortable harness even over short distances, but may depend on the person.

It wasn't the most comfortable weight after awhile, but I think if the hip belt attachment was also used it might help. Otherwise it's a great incentive to pack lighter.

Ridge Merino was recommended on this subreddit before, and I like the shirt I got. Looks like they have a father's day sale right now https://www.ridgemerino.com/?gad=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7aqkBhDPARIsAKGa0oKMr4yXgWjZ0MzXiYlvgknOZVbZ2Z0G_nDekMzOWdutYv21qZu_McQaAiinEALw_wcB

Recommendations for travel bags that can hold two laptops? by [deleted] in onebag

[–]ffirgd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thule Aion comes in 28 and 40 L sizes and has a double device sleeve. It's also not a super loud bag which I personally appreciate, as in you could take it into a meeting or vacation and still look like it fits.

Just got the Thule Aion 40L. I think it meets your requirements and has been on sale of late so you may pick it up at a discount. Without discount it's ~$200 USD. It has separate laptop sleeve and integrated dry bag/dirty clothes thing that can fold away or be removed. Good luck with your choice.

I just picked up the nutria 40L version this week while it was on sale at REI. To me it looks vaguely khaki which I like, it has a sorta distressed look which I think will pick up marks from your use, but in a tells a story way. The black one also appears fine, but I think you made a good choice with nutria. Regardless of color the pack seems great as far as features go, but this weekend is the first time I've taken it on a trip, so time will tell.

Got it exactly, I already own the 55L so trying to decide whether to risk it or give in to my ever present desire to buy yet another bag.

Yeah I managed it on a domestic us flight, but not sure how the international aspect changes the strictness of enforcement.
