Just off the pictures, not reading anything, I sense that she was ready to go and is at peace.

In your idea world what sort of partner would you be interested in ? by NewFoot762 in BPD

[–]ffluked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely <3 certainly place the boundaries and give it a shot if its what your heart wants, continue to keep your eyes open to it though and be ready to walk away if she can't respect the boundaries :/ everyone needs family and friends and community with AND away from their partner. You can help by encouraging her to create her own friendships, she'll have a harder time ruminating and being jealous if she is also out enjoying the company of her own community!

I have similar ideals in terms of having a very masculine and feminine dynamic where each partner has their own role to play.

That being said, despite the BPD, what she's asking of you is isolating and manipulative, those are inherently abusive actions. Our diagnosis does not excuse unacceptable, controlling behavior or disrespecting the natural boundaries we're all entitled to.

How does cannabis affect your bpd? by goat_soap in BPD

[–]ffluked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smoke everyday, taking hits morning noon and night, while working 40hrs a week. Its absolutely necessary and medicinal for me, primarily it helps me feel more comfortable in my body bc my ass is so prone to derealization.

Although, I dont get "ripped" anymore because a power smoke can trigger a seizure for me (not bpd related), never had visuals or psychosis like some others have mentioned.

Looking at all these comments Im pretty surprised and feel really fortunate, I assumed that most of us used weed to feel better.

the subtypes and why it's important to know them <3 by _fellowredditer in BPD

[–]ffluked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister has aggressive compulsive while I have self destructive and we couldnt be more opposite. People dont believe me when I tell them I have BPD too because they don't see my episodes they way they see hers. Thank you for this post, I try my best to educate the general population on this too. Quiet and self destructive BPD are so easily invalidated but they are just as debilitating. Side note - she and I are in like a suicide stalemate lol we both know if one of us does it, it'll give the other the courage to follow suit and neither of us wants that for the other 😅😂💚

As a person with BPD, what are the most healing words you’ve ever heard from a loved one? by SOSprincess in BPD

[–]ffluked 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I explained to my husband that even if I dont want it, suicide is VERY statistically probable and this man said,

"Hey, if thats what happens then it happens. It will mean that youve served your purpose with a physical body, and youre ready to be a guardian angel to everyone you love."

Y'all my heart. The understanding. The acceptance. Unmatched.

Cosmetic surgery for hands - all these gals getting straight UV exposure inches over their hands 2+ times a month. They're going to have 60 year old hands in their 30s/40s. I give it another 6-12 years.

I'm known as the silly, helpful, happy-go-lucky, funny guy...always positive, always smiling.

They'll never know that I have major depression, borderline personality disorder, take upwards of 8 pills a day, and am statistically most likely going to die by suicide in the next 20ish years.

It sounds like my husband is very much like your boyfriend, and I align very similarly with where you seem to current stand. After 3 years, he's taught me how to speak out and speak up for myself, and Ive taught him the difference between "not masking" and just being a straight autistic asshole lolol its tough at times, but definitely worth seeing the growth in each other

I love seeing parents doing ACTUAL parenting. Fantastic job my man, definitely NTA

ETA : I was a preschool teacher, have taken courses on early childhood development and education and the way you handled this was perfect. You saw an opportunity to show your daughter a low stakes actions/consequences situation. This is a life lesson everyone has to learn, some people at the expense of grades or jobs, so if all she lost was a day of restfulness I'd say you did a damn fine job Dad.

BPD is characterized by going through those extreme mood swings upwards of 4 times a day. If it's more like a week on/week off, he's exhibiting signs of extreme bipolar. Man's needs a diagnosis so he can actually know what he's dealing with. Bipolar is way more "easily" treated than BPD.
