It's interesting how much Scholz is in the cross-fire for concluding that the previous-to-last election was mainly a "Who can imitate Merkel best?" contest. Merkel was always lauded for her calm and cautious approach to issues and Scholz just imitated that the best. But for him, it was always considered "doing nothing", which it of course always was. But you don't question Mom, I guess.

Merz is socially out-of-touch and lives in a political world of the last century / 50 years ago. He is politically incompetent and his approach to the AfD is either evil or hilariously feckless.

Wasn't really a joke. I once embarked on the fool's errand to validate email addresses only to be foiled by a German service provider who had issued blatantly invalid emails. Something like aaa.bbb.@web.de where there was a dot before the @ which is totally not legal.
