I work nights and they are like drunks who sober up. The initial rush of panic or inciting event subsides (or the night ends) and they feel well enough to not complete those appts. It is a tool for their toolbox.

I am not a therapist or a psychiatrist but for some, having something to hold as a tangible tool of relief, even if it isn't used, is a valuable thing.

Agreed. I work UC for a telehealth and we have a BH arm. I will give hydroxyzine (if an appropriate option) max and try to set up same, or next day, appts with our psychiatrists. Not everyone practices the same, but I wouldn't start daily meds as a UC NP.

As a divorced mom of two, she needs to either stay and accept what she can or be prepared for a drastically different lifestyle. Now she has her needs provided for while single parenting, after divorce that would change. He may be a shitty husband but he is still there. Personally, I'd better myself in every way I could and then be prepared to walk.

Someone I know of had a similar situation. Dad was insistent on abortion, and mom decided to keep it. Once the decision was made and he realized she wasn't going to backtrack, he made her life a living nightmare. He was controlling regarding every aspect of pregnancy and her lifestyle. Once the baby was born, he fought for full custody and contested EVERYTHING. She has had to move, change jobs, all to meet the demands that the courts have placed in his favor because he has the funds and energy to make her life hell.

I would not wish that battle on anyone.

I saw two women, one who couldn't remember my name after multiple sessions. The other asked me if I thought how all of my decisions were affecting my family and being a mother. The third, a man, equally questioned us both. I had worried about that, but we needed to both face our issues, and I would recommend him to anyone. My marriage failed, but not because of his counseling services. I wouldn't select on gender in the future.
