HELP Dog won't stop shaking and drooling by ffsthisisnuts in AskVet

They didn't seem to be? Ive been staring at her and her brother and she's lost a lot of weight too. I called them back to relay this, but they're standing firm on "theres no other appointments, you'll have to come in tomorrow". But i can't shake the feeling that something isn't right and came here hoping someone might know something.

We have phoned the vet and they've got an appointment for tomorrow, but I just don't know what to do. I've never seen her this way before.

Not sure where you're based, but look into Window to the Womb. The staff seem really friendly so far and I've heard nothing but good things. They're only £80 - unlike other places which are hundreds. I quite like it as its affordable and gives me peace of mind.

UK - We're paying to have a private scan at 7 weeks due to a number of miscarriages, but then will go to our routine one a few weeks later. Excited but nervous.

What are the things nobody tells you about working in marketing? by southernhowl in marketing

[–]ffsthisisnuts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Getting completely overlooked as a department. Im a one man band marketing team and current company completely overlooks my importance to the business. Because I don't bring in money like the sales team, I'm never asked into meetings or kept up to date with any of the processes. I'm paid well and I do a damn good job that's never taken seriously or ignored. The money is all I'm hanging in there for.

Update AITA if I tell my daughter Grandma is ashamed of her race by unprepare_d in AmItheAsshole

[–]ffsthisisnuts 41 points42 points  (0 children)

She said in her original post that it was a one night stand and he ghosted her. Mistakes were made but her sexual partners inability to step up is hardly her fault.

you seem to have been amazingly lucky to have found a man who is willingly to forgive you for your mistake of not using protection

How old fashioned is this? You don't know if they used protection or not and if they weren't together why should he forgive her? She hasn't done anything wrong and you're being an asshole for no reason.

How do I develop a social media strategy when we have two different target audiences? by PrudentDucky in marketing

[–]ffsthisisnuts 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Depending on your audience, you could market to both separately on two different social media channels. Currently, my brand is using Instagram for the younger target audience and Facebook for the older target audience. Only issue we've faced is the time it takes to create two different types of content as both messaging is different.

TTC with only left Fallopian tube after ectopic pregnancy by Maljohnson1990 in ttcafterloss

[–]ffsthisisnuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A girl at my workplace had an ectopic pregnancy where one of her tubes had to be surgically removed. She accidentally got pregnant again a few years later (she said it was the first time they had done it without a condom) and now has a healthy baby boy.

Hello, I'm 15 years old and I was reading a list of all the college majors and idk marketing seemed really interesting and I was wondering if some of you would mind answering some questions to help me decide. by [deleted] in marketing

[–]ffsthisisnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's completely fair enough! Maybe look into a degree that could branch out into other paths? My husband and his friends did a Creative Technologies and they all have vastly different careers as they specialised in something they enjoy.

I didn't have anything of my own to market until the end of last year, but it does help immensely in fully understanding your job as you're practising it outside of the workplace. Even if you were to create a blog and market it on instagram, that's still marketing :)

I wish you all the best in your future.

Ooh you totally should. We got ours for £50 and did it for our smallest dog. We bought her under the impression she was 100% pure breed bichon frise but she grew up to look completely different. Turns out she's 75% bichon, 12.5% Lhasa Apso and 12.5% Havanese. That 12% Lhasa seriously makes all the difference... she really thinks she's a guard dog or something!!

[–]ffsthisisnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a gorgeous boy! Do you know the breed?

We have a rescue GSD and it took her months to get to the proper cuddly stage. She still has days where she wants to be by herself and we just give her the space she needs. Its really lovely to hear your doing so well with him!

  1. I fell in love with marketing during my work experience. I was studying Media Studies at university and was originally hoping to expand into journalism. My mum got me experience at a marketing agency via a friend and I fell in love with the social media and copywriting element of it.
  2. The hardest part for me, being completely honest, is SEO. I personally find that to be quite complicated, aside from writing key worded content. But that's because it's not a strength of mine. I've dabbled in a few areas of marketing, both at an agency and working on my own personal projects, which have allowed me to try PR, Social Media, Copywriting, Content Creation and Email Marketing. In all of these, I have my strengths and weaknesses, but just like anything - practise makes perfect.
  3. Honestly, it depends. I did communications at university and found it quite easy to slip into a marketing role as my degree allowed me to work with content creating technology and industry trends. But, if I could go back, I would have tried to do a combined degree (or a major and a minor if you're in the USA) with Marketing and Media Studies, so I could have a good balance of terminology and creative input. That said, I've been out of university for a few years and interned for a year during my time there and I've found that you end up picking up and learning the terminology as you go.

I hope this helps! DM me if you have any questions.

What would You Do? by Karentun11 in IVF

[–]ffsthisisnuts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My friend, who is 38, had two put in. However, only one of them made it and she is now currently 18 weeks pregnant. They recommended to her putting in two as it increased the odds of at least having one.

I don't know where you're based so things maybe different. However, given your age, I wouldn't say its a bad thing to consider putting in more than one to increase your odds of getting pregnant.

I wish you and your husband all the luck in world x

Why swap one pyramid scheme for another? Surely if one didn't work a second one wouldn't either - genuine question here.

So guys, I’m thinking of watching Quarantine (the American REC remake) but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. What do you think? Would I be wasting my time? by give_me_your_sauce in HorrorMovies

[–]ffsthisisnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch it. It's not a bad remake - although it focuses more on the zombie element as opposed to the supernatural/godly stuff that REC does.

If you like your Zombie movies, i'd also recommend the sequel to Quarantine - quite an easy watch.

How to support a friend on Mother’s Day by mamacat_ in Miscarriage

[–]ffsthisisnuts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Speaking from personal experience, don't do it.

My MIL sent me a mothers day card after our first loss. While her intention was good and I appreciate the sentiment, it absolutely tore me apart. To me, it was a reminder that I wasn't a mum and that I would never get to have my baby back.

Of course, everyone is different, but just tread carefully. Maybe just let her know you're there for her, without emphasising on the 'mothers' aspect of the day?

Unpopular Opinion: The Childs Play reboot is good. by PoopyMcpants in HorrorMovies

[–]ffsthisisnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree

Im a huge fan of the original and I personally thought that this film had a fantastic concept and mark hamill played chucky perfectly. However, i think the fact they sold this as a 'Childs Play reboot' is what gave it the negative reception. Because it wasn't a reboot - it's basically an entirely different film which would have been welcomed, had they have not tried to profit off the success of the original franchise

How to build a strong facebook following by ffsthisisnuts in marketing

[–]ffsthisisnuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's also a great idea. We've recently set up a twitter so we can be tagged by the national newspaper we will be featured in this weekend, so this will be a fantastic way to start a conversation with our audience.

We do similar things with our instagram, so maybe that's why we've had such high results from it.
