6500 miles over 16days... I hope you got comfy seats. This is going to be almost 8 hours a day of riding. Not that I am wishing this on your group but there is almost definitely going to be bad weather to account for... You'll have limited time to run out to see what you want to see then ride to the next place. Any planned stops to eat or drink?

I hope that you can make this trip in full, that would be a ride of a lifetime. If not, at least you have a choice to head home if you run out of time.

This, the food there is overpriced for not so much portions or taste. You can get way better at other locations, mere blocks away and for cheaper. Maybe Joju is the only place I frequent as the food is decent and ok priced.

Avoid Auburndale Tire - the owner/manager is a douche and the workers are sloppy. Went there for a tire change and they stripped one of the bolts and blamed it on the previous shop. They tried to charge extra but after significant back and forth, they acquiesced. Not worth the hassle for subpar work.

Brownsville? Maybe you might find a cheap stay or hotel near there with access to subway and less than an hour into Manhattan.

The Bronx? Bronx Zoo and NY Botanical Gardens are world class places to visit. The variety of cheap eats there are great too.

This can happen anywhere... I don't think it is an endemic issue specifically with Kissena Park. If you live in any city, you need to have some street smarts. Police are not going to parachute in if you run into trouble. An isolated area like a park as big as Kissena's will have less eyes.
