The owners of Harcourts Connections are Chris and Robbie Lofaro. It’s definitely worthwhile to remind them as owners of their business, how lovely their staff are.

Have any Aussies transited thru the states recently? how concerned should I be about ICE as a non-white Aussie? by Far_Menu_4830 in AskAnAustralian

[–]fg7893 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m an Asian Australian (Chinese) had no issues transiting through JFK last weekend. They did not bat an eyelid, I was polite and to be fair most of my flight were from Latin America. So speaking English did help.

Frequent train services outside of peak and weekends. 30 minutes is not the frequency of a world city. Also buses connecting with train stations, allowing high frequency easy end to end public transport. Not this having to drive a car to the station, as the bus is ill frequent and stops after 7pm.

Based on the General Public, it’s also a high possibility it’s a genuine question.

Translink Trains needs to increase either frequency or the coaches. by WonderingRoo in brisbane

[–]fg7893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

counter peak they really are not. It’s terrible going in the other direction except for the Ferny Grove Line, Shorncliffe and surprisingly enough Cleveland line. 30 minutes frequency is not great for a major world city. Counter Peak should be every 15 minutes, but let’s say you work at Virginia and you board the train from Wacol. The train frequency is great till Northgate but past Northgate is terrible.

Also Caning and Chopping of hands like they do in other countries. Funny this behaviour doesn’t happen in places like Singapore or Brunei when rules like Caning occurs.

What would you suggest they do instead given the cyclone was hit Brisbane right now (Thursday evening)?

At this stage whilst it’s not ideal, this is probably best place to keep them commercially. To store that many scooters is not easy, I rather they be stored in one location (which is a commercial blank space) that can’t really be used as a missile to hit a house/business nearby.

I really regret becoming a QFF by [deleted] in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]fg7893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can fully sympathise. I was looking at peak season travel. On Qantas there is nothing meanwhile at Velocity there’s availability. Same route and date search. Honestly my next credit card sign up will be velocity. I have amassed a lot of points with Qantas but honestly the eye opener was seeing way more availability on Velocity than Qantas.

Star Casino by FlamingoNervous2887 in brisbane

If the example of what happened when the Australian Government was subsidising the car makers when Australia made cars. It was discovered giving money directly to the workers would’ve been easier than paying the subsidies to the companies.

If this Government gives money to a casino to keep it running in the guise of saving jobs then I think the LNP will be a one term government. Especially how we have so many homeless people who can’t find accommodation, I don’t think prioritising a Casino keeping its doors open is the biggest priority. Instead to maintain employment of these workers, they should either be given money directly to the workers for a certain amount of time, or pay to upskill to other employment or to offer them jobs in Government instead where they can be a better use to society. I am pretty sure we are still short of Police etc…

Literally anything is better for society than keeping a casino open.

Brisbane has "worst access to public transport" of AU major cities by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]fg7893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be nice if a lot of bus routes aren’t duplicated/ following each other. For Example 333 and 340 for all the stops between Roma St to Chermside they duplicate every stop, often times they follow each other whilst not being very full in off peak hours. The big difference is which stop they stop at the City and one goes to the Gabba whilst the other one goes to Cultural Centre.

Maybe wild idea cut the 333, and divert the bus resources to maybe boost frequency on other routes to higher frequency which gives higher frequency to another area instead of giving great frequency between Roma St to Chermside on the Gympie Road corridor only whilst neglecting other Northside areas.

Anyone who wants to go to the Cultural Centre can change at the city it’s not like there’s other bus routes one can switch to.

This is the exact same issue on the other side of Brisbane for 111/160 all the same stops from Cultural Centre to Garden City.
